War is hell. You cannot sugarcoat nor romanticize, nor ignore it. All you can do is cry loud enough that the ones that can do something about will be shamed enough to do it. Yeah i know. Sif. But really thats all the power we have.

Gazans had been doing pretty ok living off donations from all over the world. Why wouldn’t those donors keep supporting them if they lived somewhere else?

Well I don’t want to get into the macroeconomics of it all, but I’d guess because they have LESS net worth and political capital than their neighbors. You’re trying to make sense of a world where “donations” signify weak, and “quid pro quo” is what makes allies. One has more weight than the other.

Not justifying that, just saying that’s an obvious fact about what is happening right now.

If you are unfamiliar with the world, and you think that Istaetonly has one arms dealing ally. Wow.

Let me just let you know that EVERY country in the EU develops munitions, and they are much closer than the US. You prob even think the US is the sole supplier of munitions for Israel, and you would be wrong. Britain makes some of the best armaments on the planet. Italy makes the best lethal small-arms, France makes some of the best sidearms, and Germany makes the best “smart bombs” around.

No, and again, read my other comments.

Alliances with other nations aren’t just shit you throw around. You go against another nation, it creates a historical precedent for them to NOT work with your interests.

You’re talking like “The Democrats” are in charge of the government. If your third grade civics is not up to date, I can just inform you that because a Democrat is the President, he doesn’t command the absolute government and decisions of said government.

“The Democrats” occupy the White House, and unless you want them to go absolutely fucking nuts and be all Trump about shit, they are at the behest of Congress.

You’re still not even realizing that the UNITED STATES is not attacking Gaza. Get with the fucking program.

The Democrats ARE in charge of foreign policies as they control the executive branch.

I didn’t say burn the alliance with Israel, but I did say threaten or commit to an “arms embargo” in order to get a ceasefire.

And if bailing on an alliance is not such a hard line to cross then, by your logic, Israel won’t seek arms from China or Russia

As long as the US is sending weapons to Israel, it is complicit in attacking Gaza.

Look at the mental gymnastics you have to resort to in order to feel OK about the killing of children 🤮

Almost all of their weapons platforms are based on U.S. tech. They aren’t going to replace all their equipment because they can’t buy replacement ammo and parts for a few months.

But I’m going to help you here:

Legislation enacted under Bush in 2008 requires that the U.S. ensure Israel maintain a qualitative military edge in the Middle East.

You have been arguing the wrong thing all along. Instead of trying to justify the sale of military weapons to Israel, you should simply say “It sucks, and it reveals how broken politics is that this deal cannot be undone between the shitheels in Congress, and the broken campaign finance laws that are allowing Israel allied interests to outright buy the loyalty of politicians or elect politicians loyal to them.”

Boom, done. You get to have your “you can’t stop the genocide” moment of gloating, and you can avoid all of the wasted energy and negativity. You keep insulting the intelligence of others, but you’re digging your heels in with easily defeated arguments. I don’t know what to say, bud.

Can’t think of a single Germany, Britain, France Italy, Greece (who even knew they made arms), Spain, Ukraine (holy shit) have all pledged to make arms available, and even did so in UN meetings.

My wife pointed this article out to me the other day.

I’m sorry - I don’t know how archive sites and paywall bypass things work, but I refresh it fast and load it in reader view before their JavaScript can execute.

        Here are some extracts:

[Ronald Regan] was livid. He had just been shown pictures of civilians killed by Israeli shelling, including a small baby with an arm blown off. He ordered aides to get the Israeli prime minister on the phone and then dressed him down sharply.

Mr. Reagan [demanded], it had to stop. [Israel’s prime minister,] Mr. Begin heeded the demand. Twenty minutes later, he called back and told the president that he had ordered a halt to the shelling. “I didn’t know I had that kind of power,” Mr. Reagan marveled to aides afterward.

Biden Is Not the First U.S. President to Cut Off Weapons to Israel

Note: this is from May. Biden paused one shipment.

Land wars aren’t about munitions, they are about policy. Literally look at any land war in history and find this to be true. Social impact on an armed force is the issue, not the munitions. The US is not providing arms with a little note that says “By the way, have a fun day killing Palestinians.”

The culture is the issue, not the munitions.

People comments about “why Egypt doesn’t open the border” other comments about “Russia” and “China” and many other little topics that divert attention from the main issue here which is **Children are dying a slow death by the Zionist. ** What you can do? If you are in a democratic society send a letter to your representative. Boycott Israel same as people did in the past to Apartheid South Africa. Reach to news organizations and demand more coverage. Put a sign and let people know what is happening.

Whatever arguments people have tried to make about israel’s “right to exist” have been crushed with this past year’s onslaught of brutality, if it wasn’t already apparent before then. Not only does such a barbaric country not have a right to exist, it is imperative that it be destroyed and turned into something civilized, just like nazi germany. Fuck israel.
