Egypt has bigger issues than - checks notes - a million children trying to survive in a warzone?

      I’m learning every day

Yup. Egypt is barely even functioning as a society, it has 110+ Million people, and they can’t feed or house all those people. Pretty fucked up.

        Next.

Gazans had been doing pretty ok living off donations from all over the world. Why wouldn’t those donors keep supporting them if they lived somewhere else?

Well I don’t want to get into the macroeconomics of it all, but I’d guess because they have LESS net worth and political capital than their neighbors. You’re trying to make sense of a world where “donations” signify weak, and “quid pro quo” is what makes allies. One has more weight than the other.

Not justifying that, just saying that’s an obvious fact about what is happening right now.
