yes i am sure russia, china or europe, the rest of the world’s leading arms manufacturers, will willingly sell arms to a us ally that the us has refused to sell arms to

If you are unfamiliar with the world, and you think that Istaetonly has one arms dealing ally. Wow.

Let me just let you know that EVERY country in the EU develops munitions, and they are much closer than the US. You prob even think the US is the sole supplier of munitions for Israel, and you would be wrong. Britain makes some of the best armaments on the planet. Italy makes the best lethal small-arms, France makes some of the best sidearms, and Germany makes the best “smart bombs” around.

        Next.

yes, that is why i mentioned “europe” in my comment

europe very barely has the political will to supply arms to israel, and you think that if the us stops that they’ll continue?

All the better reason for the US to stop giving them weapons. If this is the case, Israel isn’t the staunch ally you claimed above, and the relationship needs re-assessment

      Lol listen to yourself.

“If we don’t actively help Israel to commit genocide, someone else will, so we should accept it and vote for it.”

Of course they will. Have you not looked at the long list of countries saying they will? It’s in the news.

Can’t think of a single Germany, Britain, France Italy, Greece (who even knew they made arms), Spain, Ukraine (holy shit) have all pledged to make arms available, and even did so in UN meetings.

Not sure where you mean to go with this, but…NEXT.

Almost all of their weapons platforms are based on U.S. tech. They aren’t going to replace all their equipment because they can’t buy replacement ammo and parts for a few months.

But I’m going to help you here:

Legislation enacted under Bush in 2008 requires that the U.S. ensure Israel maintain a qualitative military edge in the Middle East.

You have been arguing the wrong thing all along. Instead of trying to justify the sale of military weapons to Israel, you should simply say “It sucks, and it reveals how broken politics is that this deal cannot be undone between the shitheels in Congress, and the broken campaign finance laws that are allowing Israel allied interests to outright buy the loyalty of politicians or elect politicians loyal to them.”

Boom, done. You get to have your “you can’t stop the genocide” moment of gloating, and you can avoid all of the wasted energy and negativity. You keep insulting the intelligence of others, but you’re digging your heels in with easily defeated arguments. I don’t know what to say, bud.

You have no counter-arguments to “Democratic administration is aiding and abetting genocide” except “it’s OK because…”

No, and again, read my other comments.

Alliances with other nations aren’t just shit you throw around. You go against another nation, it creates a historical precedent for them to NOT work with your interests.

You’re talking like “The Democrats” are in charge of the government. If your third grade civics is not up to date, I can just inform you that because a Democrat is the President, he doesn’t command the absolute government and decisions of said government.

“The Democrats” occupy the White House, and unless you want them to go absolutely fucking nuts and be all Trump about shit, they are at the behest of Congress.

You’re still not even realizing that the UNITED STATES is not attacking Gaza. Get with the fucking program.

i like that for as long as you’ve argued against this, your argument still boils down to “but guys geopolitically the us WANTS to support israel”

yeah, we get that, that’s why we’re all saying the us could unilaterally decide to not support israel at any point

Yes, I’m not sure why you don’t want that. Israel is literally a base of US operations in the Middle East. I think you’re finally getting it.

The Democrats ARE in charge of foreign policies as they control the executive branch.

I didn’t say burn the alliance with Israel, but I did say threaten or commit to an “arms embargo” in order to get a ceasefire.

And if bailing on an alliance is not such a hard line to cross then, by your logic, Israel won’t seek arms from China or Russia

As long as the US is sending weapons to Israel, it is complicit in attacking Gaza.

Look at the mental gymnastics you have to resort to in order to feel OK about the killing of children 🤮

New legislation is not needed. The president can halt arms exports. Congress has oversight but little decision-making power

So, while Congress provides funding and oversight of executive branch decisions, by its own hand it usually has very little power over what military aid recipients actually get.

                  https://thedispatch.com/article/the-president-congress-and-arms-transfers-explained/

And guess what? The Jewish Institute for National Security of America says that US arms transfers have been “critical” to the genocide of Gazans:

                  https://jinsa.org/jinsa_report/infographic-u-s-arms-transfers-to-israel-since-october-7/

Look, it’s OK if you have a different opinion than me. Just admit that you are totally fine with killing kids in Gaza and this conversation can be over. We both know that’s how you actually feel about it: Team Blue needs a win and so Gazan children and human rights are totally acceptable until November.

Then, after November, it will be unacceptable to criticize the new Team Blue administration because “they inherited this mess”

That’s always how this goes: You’ll vote for baby killers every time they wear the Blue jersey

You must not be aware of how things work in this country, so you must not be from here.

Unilateral Powers are not granted to the president here. Must different where you’re from.
