    Hey! Thanks CEO.

So we’re four days into a ten-day visit to South Australia. First two days were in the CBD and I have to say that whilst the hospy folk are friendly, the general population are indifferent and rude…no spatial awareness or common street courtesy at all. They will literally walk into you rather than give way a little to avoid a collision. Had one oblivious guy carrying an open umbrella down low and so focussed on his phone that he pushed us into oncoming traffic. Twat.

Took a tram to Glenelg, which is basically SA’s St. Kilda and everything you’d expect it to be.

An hour’s drive to the Barossa yesterday. We’re in Tununda and had lunch at Maggie Beer’s pheasant farm eatery. Great spot, lots of birds to check out in a kind of mini zoo, but at $90pp for what was essentially a menu of various cabbage and lettuce leaves, a chunk of homemade bread, carrot puree and a smidge of a lamb or chicken slices, I did feel it was a bit of a rip off and profiteering based on her brand.

We’re off to McClaren Vale in the morning, then finishing off with two days on Kangaroo Island, then homeward bound. I thought that SA had a rep for decent weed but we’ve found nothing, so looking forward to our small stash at home next week :)

I’ll probably be booed out of the state for this, but I found people in Sydney to have a lot more common courtesy than here. The main difference I noticed is that people were generally really good about letting everybody get off before getting on the train, where as here nobody gives a shit and just pushes through the people trying to get on like the train is about to leave without them

I didn’t know Glenelg was st kildary, I didn’t know Adelaide had anything like that, but I’m curious now so might go check it out while I’m there.

I did that thing when you accidentally pour too much scotch in the glass but I drank it all and now I’m buzzing

Today I set up a plastic folding table to confine the art stuff to, and so the hairy puddin can’t be helpercat. Ouch. Probably should have got someone to assist. Also managed to shove a few things into the little laundry shelves, might prioritise and play Tetris to get the most used things in there.

    It’s still weirdly muggy.

Melbcat is being the little spoon and kind of has a smile on her face. She’s going back to the vet soon to check her bladder and her ears. I’ve found some flea dirt on her back… maybe it happened when I was a bit late with her drops. I’m going to comb her gently with a nit comb (dunking it into boiling water with a drop of dish soap between passes) and redouble my efforts to get this place tidy and vacuumed.

Guess I’m already washing everything due to moths. Things always fucking ramp up while you’re sick… Perhaps some imidocloprid at the edges of the carpets might help. Except the unscented Frontline spray is super expensive and the Sundew is both scented and an aerosol. Any other flea spray or powder I wouldn’t use around a cat.

Sees person wearing Neil Young & Crazy Horse tour shirt…“Hey that’s a great shirt, I went to that concert. Do you like Neil Young and Crazy horse, are you going to see them this time?”. I don’t know the band I got it in a vintage shop

    Never. Felt. Older.

How is everyone this fine evening?

After a very slow start (I’ve come down with a post-travel cold. Make sense since I was suffering from sinusitis when I hit Italy and couldn’t really shake it.). Had to run in my tyres, so took advantage of the gorgeous late afternoon weather. Felt great. Now I’m back on the couch feeling like a bag of microwaved crap.

That dusk transition (for me) makes for some weird riding through Christmas Hill when you’re losing light. Though that sunset could not be beat.

Anyone here done any altitude training for hiking overseas? Where did you train/how did you find it?

Also did anyone go to see Cigarettes After Sex? Colour me surprised to see they had 2 Rod Laver shows. Of course they deserve it, but I just never thought they were that big out here?

Re Cigarettes After Sex, one of their songs blew up on TikTok recently hence the sudden popularity. I was confused about 2 Rod Laver shows as well.

It wasn’t too bad when the sun was up but it’s gotten muggier now. Still nice with a fan or breeze though. Nights like this remind me of Brisbane. Tuesday looks steamy
