Why is there a minimum hold time of 30 minutes when calling any government service? Always “we’re experiencing a high volume of calls”. And the hold music is terrible. Such a drainer.

I’ve achieved nothing so far today except having the best sleep I’ve had all week, which should hopefully help my stupid illness go away sooner. My voice is gone from all the dry coughing. I remembered I have cough syrup from previous sickness and that seems to be helping.

Better to be working towards a career you will enjoy later in life than to have stayed in a career you hated for the sake of being financially stable earlier in life. Yes, it would have been better if you found what you wanted to do career-wise earlier in life but it doesn’t always work out that way. I think what you’re doing is brave, a lot of people would have stuck to their existing career, too scared to make a change. The money and holidays will come in time!

Still being sick, day 5 and no real improvement yet. So hard to get out of bed and do work when my body wants to rest. Glad it’s not Covid though, I’m testing negative. So I have anti-gratitude and gratitude at the same time.

I had a small coughing episode while bending over to clean a water spill on the floor and got the worst cramp in my side hip / lower stomach area. Incredible pain for around 30 seconds and then it was done. It’s still a bit sore now.

Cramps are the absolute worst. Don’t get them often, but when they happen they feel like 10/10 pain level.

None outside of forced PE class. I was not a sporty kid at all. I ditched PE as soon as I could, I think year 10 was the last year it was mandated. Early high school I played tennis but I started to not like it once I had to play in competitions.

It seems now that kids doing a sport all through high school is the norm? My parents never forced me.

Now I play a team sport to make up for my sports-less adolescence.

I recently discovered Sushi place on corner of Lonsdale and Swanston, most rolls $2.50 each. 4 for a tenner leaving one satisfied.

Yesterday was bleak. Hangover and new illness all hitting at once. Feeling better after a good sleep in. Taking the day off otherwise - without sick leave feels different, no work no money is the sucky part of being self employed.

I wear my Apple Watch mainly to track exercise and a bit out of habit. I don’t really use the watch that much though outside of tracking workouts, so recently decided to buy a cheap Casio watch (this one as it was on sale) when I just want something on my wrist as a fashion thing.

This local RE agency calls me once every 3 or so months about “amazing results in the area” and asking if I want to sell. I say I’m not interested, thank you, and then instead of getting the message to end the call, she keeps asking questions. I just said I have another call coming in and hung up. Go away.

No eggs at the supermarket! I keep hearing of the shortage from bird flu but hadn’t encountered empty shelves until today. Better luck during the day maybe?

Caught up with an old colleague for drinks tonight. We had a good gossip / bitching session about our previous employer, both of who we had problems with, and talking about how much better we are off now.

Then I was craving noodles for dins - still thinking about how good this was. Hit the spot.

Strange person at gym, interrupting me mid set by waving their hands in front of me: can you please guard this machine for me, I’ll be in [other area] for maybe 10 minutes in case someone takes machine.

How about you come back to the machine when you’re ready to use it?

I got me some cargo pants the other week, they’re back in and the extra pockets are so practical.

Rudely awoken this morning by neighbour cutting tiles on their front lawn. Seriously can’t they give it a rest with the renovations on a Saturday? I really wanted a sleep in.

Still managed a gym session but I had shower scrubbing on the cards today and need to motivate myself to do it.
