Second weekend in a row of being stuck in bed due to health condition being flared up due to working in the office the day before.

Not happy. The employer changed their wfh arrangements after I’d started work with them ☹️

Ok, dinner is pho at 6:30/7 but I REALLY want it NOW because my entire being is craving brothy noodles. Succulent brothy noodles. Hope one of the joints on Vic st can match the vego pho at Pho Victoria in North Melbourne. Holy shit was that good.

SomaFm…! Right on. I’ve not ever come across another listener. Left Coast 70s is a great vibe, but it seems like one of the few stations that has a smaller playlist, I hear the same songs regularly, but maybe there’s just not a huge amount of Yacht Rock out there… Groove Salad has been my background soundtrack for probably 10 years, and I’ve got a running playlist made up from it. For doing jigsaw puzzles I like to put on Mission Control. For weekend mornings in the house with the family my go to is Boot Liquor. Also trying to introduce my 10 year old to an alternative to Taylor Swift through Lush

And for afternoon naps - Drone Zone

Sorry for all the links, but SomaFm is quite probably the best free listener supported radio there is…

        all their stations

I’ve known you were a SomaFM listener from years ago ;) I might’ve mentioned in passing back on reddit. Been listening on and off since 2006. Mainly the OGs - Secret Agent and Groove Salad. I think you’re the only one I’ve encountered other than the internet friend that got me onto it initially.

          this got long

Nowadays I mostly listen to Drone Zone to help me sleep. Left Coast 70s does recycle the same tunes unfortunately, as do some of the “lesser” stations; I imagine licensing costs a bomb. But it is a great vibe for about 45 minutes esp when on a long drive. I was into Indie Pop Rocks and PopTron for a while in the early to mid 2010s, and HEAVILY into Folk Forward and Irish tunes on Thistle Radio exactly between 2013-2015. Got into Beat Blender + Fluid in the late 2010s. (Those two are so good for emotional bus rides at night in the rain)

When I’m working I might tune into Deep Space One for calm concentration, or The Trip for hectic rapid fire action to block out the world.

I haven’t listened to that much SomaFM in the last year or two tbh. Been mostly tuning into PBS FM, but when I really want all music and no talk, SomaFM is the best. Coincidentally enough, though, i did blast several hours of Secret Agent through my headphones last night just like the old days. They even played this nostalgic track that, as one YT commenter put it, “makes me fall in love with life again” every time I hear it, no matter how much it sounds like a cheesy Nintendo BGM.

I can’t say female vocals are my thing but I should give Space Station Soma a crack! You’re damn right though that it’s one of the most dedicated and longstanding listener-supported radio stations ever. A nice corner of the internet that still feels like the old days; may it never change.

Did a big clean out of shed and garage. Lots of old stuff stored there that is ready for rubbish. Bin full so some will have to wait for next week. Feels very satisfying. I’m feeling dusty and cold so time for a shower and then relax in front of tv with show or movie.

My head is still in pain after having coffee and food and lots of water. Have attempted the Nurofen. Going out for dinner and hope this clears soon.

… Actually I can think of one reason why my headache didn’t improve, I had to navigate Sydney Rd traffic and find parking. That can go get absolutely fucked

I really curse this radial transport network that requires me to go into town to head out again, because I would’ve gladly gone on a tram if it didn’t take over an hour in total each way

Working on the aussie flag on canvas, the brazilians are attacking us and can’t be contacted. Please help defend if you can!

Winston (neighbours’ dog) has found a new way to jump the fence:

Just jumps over, barks at trees, the air, rolls around then goes home.

    Winston is a good boi.

Went to the zoo with the kids for the dinos alive event. The zoo is much better with kids than I expected. They could run around safely to get them out of the pram and there’s a great kid’s room near the entry.

My boy is still a bit scared of dinosaurs when they move and make noise but they still had a good time overall

Went out earlier to take advantage of the sun and break down the box the couch came in for the yellow bin.

I got home a bit late and am hoping I can get even just 30 minutes of my towels drying outside. Not much chance of doing it next week so today was my best shot, it’s probably the one thing it would be nice to have a dryer for.

The subwoofer is in! Didn’t damage anything (more).

I wasn’t able to really use it back home because it was too much.

Forgot how loud it was. Which brings us to yet another rave choooon

Bit of a Balancing Act moving it around so happy that’s over. All I need to do now is sand and paint the filled bit of wall I fucked and all will be okay.

I got a pamphlet thingy from my local councillor where she’s whinging about proposed high density housing. She included a link to a (state) government consultation page on it. But their consultation and public opinion process closed 3 months ago. This pamphlet was most certainly not in there on Wednesday, so it can’t be an old one.

Also, what’s with the photos ministers and councillors put on their propaganda/advertising material? Why do they always look like robots trying to be humans? I don’t think anytime I’ve ever received their photos they actually looked like normal people. Reminds me of zuckerburg. It’s uncanny.
