Boat ride amongst Niagra Falls. Day before the total eclipse.
Washed a tent.
A canvas one? Thats such a shitty job.
Thankfully no, it’s nylon. Was mostly just a lot of soaking in the tub and agitating over a couple of hours.
Made hassleback potatoes.
sounds like a lot of work
worth it though
Preserved and framed a 1500-piece puzzle I completed
The college club I’m in made mochi today. Never actually made it before.
All we did was use rice flower, water, and sugar as the core ingredients. I believe something like 6 spoons of the flour and water, and 1 spoon of water. Knead until mixed, until it’s like Play-Doh according to the club instructor. Then make 6 mini balls, finally cover and heated in a microwave for a minute.
Was pretty messy and at various times felt like I was rolling mashed potatoes in my hand, but was delicious when it was done. Especially with soybean powder.
Bought a book on programming. Have been doing hobby coding for a few decades. Going to dive into a larger project so trying to learn some better practices
What book was it ?
Design Patterns by Eric Freeman and Elisabeth Robson
I really got a lot from Clean Code and Working Effectively With Legacy Systems
Read clean code during an internship and it helped me transition from hacker to engineer.
I finally hacked my 3ds, using the tools at https://3ds.hacks.guide. It was surprisingly easy, and gives you access to
- homebrew!
- emulators!
- online play for most games! (see: Pretendo Network)
- custom home screen themes!
I waited until Nintendo shut down their servers 'cause I was worried about bans, but now there’s no excuse. Go liberate your 3ds, it takes less than an hour.

Hey my son’s name is Bort too!
Started up a custom PhP forum for a fan base community centered around my favorite board game. Forums are weird
Saw Primus. That was pretty dope. I always thought Victor Wooten was the best bass player, but dang, Les Claypool, man.
Moved out of my parents house to live by myself.
Elderly raising. I have elderly relatives that needed care and I’ve begun the process of fulltime care at my home. I was told this would be the easy version of being a mom (as if).
First time home buyer, so lots of firsts. First time going on a home search and checking out properties, first time shopping for a mortgage, first time going through contracts and legal documents, first time trying to find an inspector, etc.
Riding my daughter’s motorcycle.
I had my first microwave burrito about two weeks ago. I’m almost 40 and my wife couldn’t seem to believe I’d never had one.
always better in the toaster oven. always. yes it takes 15 times as long. Worth it.
I still 'wave em sometimes though life is short.
Try an air fryer. Makes the outside crunchy which I thought would be weird at first, but it’s so much better.
I don’t like air fried burritos, or pizza rolls!
I rock two air fryers so don’t get me wrong i’m a big fan in general but I have found that the extra minutes in the toaster oven just really work better for some few foods.
Taquitos are air fryer fodder for sure but burritos just seem to need time. One of the frozen burrito companies has a chimichanga line that is better in the air fryer but that’s ac exception.
Taquitos are amazing and we can no longer get a box of 40 of them or a group of three people eats them in like a week
