    Bummer

I’ve been struggling for hours to get my abdominal pain down to manageable levels and am currently back on a liquid diet. The severe pain is happening so frequently now and all the specialists so far have just shrugged or been jerks. Trying to get in with a pain management clinic via a private route now because this is debilitating.

I’ve made a new post named Tucker Time on !foodaustralia@aussie.zone replacing What’s for dinner? That way you can post about your breakfast, lunch, dinner etc.

It would be great if you could contribute unless of course if you live on air. Thank you.

Just watched my elderly neighbour reverse into his mailbox. Barely any damage, but I just know he’ll spend the next 3 days ‘fixing’ it loudly with every power tool he owns.

Might have cracked his bumper a bit but that’s all. He was going very slow, but managed to knock the box over.

yikes. Vic roads should probably have a “dob in an old person who shouldnt drive any more” hotline. Though TBH, one incident probably isnt enough to make that judgement call. But its a small step from there to “Was trying to park and accidentally ran over the wife and went through a shop front”.

I’ve seen him drive around locally and always seemed fine. But yeah, he’s in his late 70s (maybe even early 80s now) so not gonna get better.

The press fawning over “our” Queen Mary is really cringe and gross. She got married so what. She didn’t invent the cure for cancer. Australia isn’t special, deal with it.

PSA: I’ve lost some photos. Partly my fault, partly computers dying. Anyway right now I had 3 or 4 repositories or backups, most duplicated, but I only discovered recently that at some point something corrupted and I lost some priceless photos. Spent 3 weeks digging through old storage to find a backup and luckily, I found a VERY old SD card that contains them. Its a miracle that it survived this long. I nearly cried tears of joy. Anyway, if you don’t have a good backup solution? Go make one. Right bloody now!

I’m also open to suggestions for management/organization of photos. Right now im across iCloud for recent stuff, Dropbox for last gen stuff, and then google drive for older than that stuff. And its just chaos!

Print them out and put them in an album. Use the best paper, ink, glue and album you can find. The pictures should last quite a few decades, if not more.

We’ve just done that in the form of a calendar for the grandparents, but we’re talking a need for more long term cold storage.

        This is a great idea.

Every year my wife and I pick out our fave photos of the year across both of our phones (because that’s where they all get taken these days!), and when Snapfish do their big yearly sale at the start of Jan we get a hardcover photo book made up.

It helps to have a folder that we just dump photos we particularly like into as the year goes on, makes things quick come book compiling time.

Just this weekend gone our niece was staying with us, and she loved going through our little collection of photo books on the shelf, and I admit I enjoyed it too! I love the experience of browsing a book or album of printed photos.

I just put my shower curtain liner in the washing machine, and it made me wonder how many people actually have shower curtains and not glass panels these days. I suspect it is an ever-dwindling number.

I tend to see them as part of shower-over-bath arrangements, which I have. My MIL had her bathroom done out like a hospital bathroom (ie the floor of the bathroom is also the shower floor, so you walk straight in without stepping over anything) and she has a curtain too.

I have encountered the most saddest Apple strudel.

The pastry was so thick and claggy… I could only eat the filling.

    Not my f’ing day.

Just spilt my entire dinner on the god damn carpet and had to do a massive cleanup and remaking dinner again as all of it had to be tossed out.

It’s the last thing I need right now!

Trust me I cracked the shits.

It was souped based as well which made it so much worse to clean up.

Almost thought about going without as well.

Anyway time to take a deep breath.

        Still annoyed at myself.
