Yeah, the problem with combative democrats is that they turn off the core democratic voters whereas that personally trait is accepted and fostered by republicans. Order and decorum is the reason blue voters vote blue, they want security and predictability and in theory could have a well oiled machine. Red voters seem to enjoy the underdog/victimhood/anti authority stance and embrace loud edgy individuals (Alex Jones, Trump, fox, etc).
It’s deeper than surface politics, it’s a belief in “the system” as a whole either providing net benefits and some things are worth toning down or self sacrificing vs telling people not to do something (even if it’s for a net benefit for all)
Democrats will eat our own edgy loud politicians and Republicans will elevate theirs.
