Oh I would adopt too. I thought it was stupid to raise kids when I’m broke and facism was knocking on the door.
If my kid was a disabled queer like I am, they’d have a hard time telling me what they are thinking, and I have a hard time understanding direct statements.
If I had sex with someone of color, that kid is even more at risk. It’s not fair to give them a chance to be hated for something they can’t control, and never asked to be targeted for their skin.
It’s immoral to me, and I find people who had kids in the Post-Trump America morons who want more blood on the ground for corporations and water wars.
And if the fascists win and give the kids scars mentally and physically, they never asked for?
My parents had me and they expected a positive outcome. Then things got way worse without them seeing it happening. My life was set up to be good, they planned ahead. And then it was taken away from them.
Now they had to raise a kid in poverty, have another kid attend classes, as the mom snaps from the stress and abuses all of her family.
You can plan to stop fascism as much as you think you can give birth to the person who cures all cancers or solves world hunger. What you plan for isn’t guaranteed to happen. I expected Clinton to win against Trump. I expected Harris to win against Trump.
And now every child forced into birth from lack of abortion access has a horrid life to live. If they are anyone the Trump fascists hate, they will be bullied or maimed. You can’t lynch someone who’s never been born.
I couldn’t live with my kid being harmed. By myself, trying my best. Or someone acting in bad faith to hurt them. I don’t want to give someone who never asked to be born to ask “Why?”
Well the other side has no such thoughts at all. They multiply without hesitation or second guessing. Unfortunately the laws of evolution are cruel and in such world one can only hope to shape their descendants and what is left there after the departure.
To cultivate our traditions of empathy we must overcome these doubts lest all is left are traditions of facism
It’s not really that reasonable. In 10-20 years sane people will die out cause evolution apparently
What I propose instead is to adopt
We adopt cats and dogs yet we can’t muster courage to do the same for fellow humans?

It’s not stupid to raise kids the right way when facism is knocking at the doors. On the contrary, it is necessary.
For evil to win it is enough if good people do nothing.
