      Mr. Jones,

After due consideration, we have come to the conclusion the logistics of shipping make this purchase infeasible.

However, if you are able to transport this vehicle to our headquarters on your end, we are prepared to offer $3.50 in quarters for your vehicle.

Then, if the guy delivers, pay the man out of your own pocket. Turn it into a PR stunt and games some pictures of it in the parking lot before sending it home with an employee who has a kid. If the guy just reposts the response, your company looks fun without losing the professional veneer.

Even now, it’s not too late to offer about $2.50 for one of these cars

I only do this as I like to learn new things myself and appreciate if people correct me.

You made a mistake in choosing to use an over a.

The way you can decide which one to use is by the proceeding words first syllable sound. If it has a vowel sound you use an if it doesn’t, then you use a. It’s important to note it’s vowel sound and not just a vowel.

      Examples:

      • A teacher
      • An apple
      • A car
      • An hour (note it starts with a vowel sound, but not a vowel)
      • A US company
      • An excellent teacher

Mr. Jones should proudly frame this and put it on his wall. It is a masterpiece.

Think about the great publicity this would have brought for practically nothing had they played along and even made him an offer on the toy car?

I know that they sometimes say “any publicity is good publicity”, but I wouldn’t want to use their service now that I know they can’t roll with a joke.

I don’t get this community. My post 2 weeks ago was deleted for being a “meme”, but this one straight out of r/funny stays up?

I also feel this post doesn’t fit this community. Confusion and disagreement about what fits is unfortunate but very natural because it’s hard to define exactly what posts on this sub should be.

The owner once described this commuiyy as c/hmmm with text, and even though that should exclude this particular post, it still doesn’t really seem to fully encapsulate the feeling evoked by the majority of posts here. IMO, ideal posts to this community also invoke nostalgia and utilize surrealism.

My best guess is that this post accrued a substantial number of upvotes before being noticed by the community moderators. Then, because the community responded so well to the post, it was left up despite breaking the normal guidelines.
