burn it in a usb stick before you nuke it to install linux
This is very very important unless you have another windows computer around. Took me a whole day to figure out how to properly burn a windows install USB from linux. It isn’t straightforward.
I walked into a Whole Foods for the first time a little while back for an Amazon return, I saw the $9 gallon of milk and walked right out.
Hopefully the price slashing is significant.
My LinuxServer container stopped listening on the Jellyfin port. Not sure if related to the update 🤔
I’m really enjoying watching City Planner Plays play it. There’s lots of attention to detail, easy to immerse yourself in it.

Following hashtags was the game changer for me.
Oh! Tree nets! I’m going to look into that. I was thinking chicken wire but it would be a bit of a hassle to deal with imagined. The little bird is a little worrying but probably a rare thing, hopefully 😅
I have chickens too… and no mice! 😄
I might just have to make it physically impossible for them to do their business near the veggies, might not be pretty though.
Duo was so much better than Meet. What a backwards move.
I was surprised to find Gemini had replaced assistant. It couldn’t even add items to the shopping list. Thankfully one is able to revert the change.
Been doing a whole lot less of that now that copilot is up and running. Didn’t expect it to be such a productivity booster tbh.
I just wish it supported hashtags, the feeds thing it has going on feels clumsy. Sticking to Mastodon for now.
This is awesome, starring this to make sure I don’t forget to give it a try.
Cozy
This is easily my favorite regular post here :D
I’ve been meaning to standup another pihole on another pi for DNS redundancy. I have to research how to best keep the piholes in sync. So far I’ve found orbital-sync and gravity-sync.
I use pihole for managing DNS and DHCP. It’s run via docker and the computer file and dnsmasq configs are version controlled so if the Pi dies I can just bring it up on another Pi.
The Pi with pihole has a static IP to avoid some of the issues you described.
+1 this, it is amazing. The scripting features are the cherry on top.
It’s great 🫠
