There is one other thing you buy a company for, and it’s to remove them from the market. I’m fully convinced that if he had any goal, it was to completely wreck Twitter as fast as possible without drawing everyone to that conclusion.

It’s literally the only thing he has done with the company, drive it further and further into a right wing cesspit that high value advertisers want nothing to do with.

I’m not convinced that he had any goals, he made a meme joke offer during a manic episode and tried to back out of it but was caught by his own need for public ridicule.

I used Smart Audiobook Player to listen to an audiobook recently and it worked great.

Yeah, I’d rather not if he talks like he writes. Again, I am fully on board with his message, but he writes like someone who doesn’t know how to have a conversation with another person.

Edit: I read a few other articles of his and watch a few of his videos/interviews. This article is an extreme side of him apparently. I still think he is extremely socially awkward, he can’t hold eye contact for longer than a millisecond and struggles to answer questions in less than twenty words.

I do fully agree with almost everything I’ve heard him say. I just don’t like the way he says it.

Out of curiosity, what was the book?

Kinda glosses over how these perks add a couple dozen extra dialogue options, many of which are unique ways to solve a problem.

Honestly my favorite type of rpg “perk”, one that gives a slight gameplay boost but also affects the story and/or dialogue in a meaningful way.

Having 25% more “luck” is cool and all, but I’d choose a perk that gave me 5% more luck and more ways to solve problems any day of the week.

It’s one of the reasons I loved Prey. It seemed like every perk you got added new ways to get around, dialogue, and/or new combat techniques.

Ehh really depends on your boss. And honestly it depends on you also. If either of you can’t separate work from personal time then you really shouldn’t be hanging out. But for most of the bosses I’ve had, some lighthearted social time outside of work was perfectly fine.

As someone who has worked in IT, age has a strong negative correlation with tech literacy. Is every boomer tech illiterate? Of course not. Some boomers built the tech we use today. But most boomers are worse with tech than most ten year olds.

C# is .Net though. It’s only syntax without it.

I think it’s definitely a dig at windows, because that used to be the primary issue with c#, you could only really target windows and you could only write it using windows. You could run .net framework applications on Linux, but it was a lot of work and it really underperformed (which would fit the timeline of 2015, when this comic was first posted). Now with .net core you can make a self contained executable that can run on anything.

People who are annoyed by types have never had to spend weeks of their life hunting for a missing property on an object.

Compilation errors are so much more preferable than finding out the same error at runtime.

Cool story. I don’t know a single person in my area with a letterbox let alone a locking one. It’s just not something we have in the more rural areas.

Unless this is a language thing. To me, a letterbox is generally attached to a house, often it’s just a slot on the front door. And a mailbox is on a post near the street (and generally they do not lock)

It’s one of those opportunity crimes where the easiest victim generally picked. It usually comes down to just two things:

• How many people see your porch

• How easy is it to walk up and walk away?

You’d be surprised how much of a deterrent a mild inconvenience is. You’ll get significantly fewer packages that walk off if you live on a big hill, or have a bunch of steps, where it’s mildly inconvenient for someone to walk up.
