Any word on if cross-platform multiplayer will be supported? Would love to play with my nephew but he’s a PlayStation kind of guy.
That was absolutely beautiful.
I’m, uh, just gonna go back and grab a coat real quick.

I used to enjoy the old Joystiq site. Followed them to Engadget. Hell, I used the Joystiq url redirect bookmark until it stopped working. Might as well just delete the bookmark now, no sense it watching it slide further into irrelevancy.
That’s what she said.
Videodrome
Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. I remember watching it as a teenager in the 90s and having no freaking clue what was going on.
You ever try emptying your clip at an entire Ikea?
No… but you probably just aroused a few dozen ammosexuals.
I hate that people in charge were never able to properly communicate this subtle difference.
It was communicated just fine. I got that info. You got that info. It was out there. But the signal to noise ratio was unreal. People seem to prefer soundbites and false dichotomies over accurate, nuanced information. Sprinkle in a metric shitton of wedge issue misinformation delivered via sledgehammer and you get what we got:
VACCINE BAD!
VACCINE GOOD!
GRANDPA HAVE VACCINE BUT STILL DIE!
VACCINE STILL GOOD!
I HAVE VACCINE BUT STILL GET SICK AND BOSS MAKE ME STAY HOME AND NO GET MONEY! VACCINE BAD!
VACCINE… BAD?
DOCTOR LIED! SCIENCE BAD!
Well actually…
YOU STUPID, VACCINE BAD!
VACCINE BAD!
COVID OVER, NO NEED VACCINE!
HOORAY!
SciShow did a piece (partially) about this recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXEFQH5UXHQ
And Veritasium did a deeper dive a while back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV3dnLzthDA
The whole situation is thoroughly fucked up, but hey, as long as people are making money amirite? 😑
Getting a heat pump has been on my want-to-do list for years. But even though my furnace is aging, it still works so it’s been hard to justify while there were other issues going on. Accelerating adoption is only going to make the process easier when the time comes.
Yeah, this shit happens all the time in NJ. Related to someone powerful? Here, have a free political position!
Andy Kim is getting my vote in the primary but with Murphy getting anointed like this, the full weight of the machine is going to be behind her.
Engineer Guy went years between books uploads. I had to do a double take when he came up in my feed a few months ago.
It’s almost as if political dynasties/neoptism/cronyism shouldn’t be a thing. Fuck Trump. And fuck Menendez. And Kennedy. Bush, Clinton, Cheney, Paul, Ashcroft, and probably dozens of others that aren’t coming immediately to mind.
Form the minute lil Robert declared he was running, the local media simply treated him as the heir to his dad’s old seat. Because it was true. He cruised on connections, many of them because his daddy is a crook. I’m hoping Andy Kim can primary senior if he wriggles free again, but Murphy’s wife is also running and would you look at that, now we’re right back at unqualified people pretending they can govern just because of who they’re related to.
Maybe one day junior will prove that he’s not just riding coattails as a golden boy. But it’s going to take more than an outburst to do it.
Alternate headline:
“Nepo baby of corrupt scumbag throws tantrum, makes good points; still nepo baby who had positions handed to him on silver platter”
Live with underlying existential dread for decades. Watch as “doing what you love” becomes “hating what you used to love because you’re forced to do it so that there’s enough numbers in the computer to prove that you’re worthy of continued existence.” Contemplate the pointlessness of it all on a daily basis. Be reminded that your feelings are invalid because “other people have it worse” every time the topic comes up. Nod listlessly as “successful” people tout their own hard work while ignoring any factor luck and privilege played, then tune out when they shift into the dissonant duet of “I succeeded because I am exceptional” and “anyone can do the same if they just work harder.”
Wake up the next morning and realize there’s roughly 30 more years of this, barring a massive coronary or aneurism or something.
I resemble that remark.
