Richard Wolf is a professor of economics. He talks a lot about the different ways a state can be communist. I’d recommend checking him out. (Misspelled his name in the above comment)
The main way he advocates is with democracy at work.

You might want to check out Robert Wolf. He’s a big advocate for worker co-ops, which are a type of communism. Of the cooperative principles, #6 is cooperation between Co-ops. It doesn’t get much more mutualist than that.

I’m optimistic about the protests as well.

What’s the difference between what’s going on now and carpet bombing? 60% of buildings in the strip have been damaged by bombs. Sources from december are saying that it’s the most destructive bombing campaign since the second world war. Gaza is already being carpet bombed.

North America has always been fascist.
During ww2 Canada denied Jewish refugees. When the war ended Canada welcomed a bunch of Nazis and erected statues commemorating a few.

I agree with you, but you might find the history of Zionism interesting. Before Israel, there was a sizable portion of Zionists that didn’t want Israel to exist in the middle east. There were also Zionists that didn’t want a ‘state’. They thought it was more important to have a safe place for a sizable Jewish population. There’s probably a lot of flavors of Zionism that you’d agree with. It’s the dominant Israeli Zionism that’s horrible.

Although, I had an indigenous friend one summer who quickly became popular because he was very funny. He used to use slurs against all of the white kids all of the time. It was the most effective anti racist tactic I’ve ever witnessed. None of us were comfortable using a lot of the slurs that were baked into our culture, unless it was with our friend and a smile.

When Harper was still in power, the Canadian government had a deal where the oil companies would get subsidized until the oil sands were profitable.
So Canada was giving the oil companies billions.

Trudeau rushed to buy the pipeline when it was canceled. Is that because the oil sands can’t be profitable without the pipeline, and this deal is bleeding Canada dry?

I think our three major parties are all neoliberal. They all want to do the same things, they just argue against how much to spend and who to give the money to.
There’s exceptions of course. Notably guns and marginalized people.
I’d prefer not to have a neoliberal government, but until then I’m voting for more freedom for everyone. (NDP or Green)
