Definitely agree with your points but maybe “dilyputes”. Isn’t the right term. I don’t think they’re worried about their culture being “watered down” or “thinner”, but replaced.
I had a recent conversation with my brother that fits here. We grew up the same, but he became more conservative and moved to a conservative area, or maybe I became more liberal and moved to a liberal area. I’ve been exploring cooking, and actually this has been several conversations where I’m excited over learning about preparing a different cuisine, being able to appreciate what that brings, and he responds with “why can’t you make regular American food?” “Diluting” the cuisine we grew up with would be to use salsa instead of ketchup or mayo. But I have entire meals replaced with new and different. I have a much bigger spice cupboard full of new and different. I make meals that he doesn’t understand, doesn’t know how to prepare, so he gets defensive an out what he is comfortable with being replaced
The problem is that birthdate is dropping even faster in those countries. An even bigger “problem” is that in general life is getting better, even in developing countries. There is no infinite supply of immigrants waiting to save the developed world.
Encouraging immigration is far from a panacea. It will work for a few countries, for another generation or so, but you can see the end of that coming

More qualification might also translate into doing a job less well. Sometimes what’s important is prompt response, staying on script, getting many jobs done. A deeper understanding could mean you’re more likely to be bored by the tedium of the more shallow role, more likely to spend too much time on an individual task, more likely to address a concern completely rather than adequately or quickly
For example, I am “overqualified” for many IT help desk roles and you bet I’d be slower than people that are good at the role. I’d be driven crazy by the repetitiveness and by stupid human tricks. At the end of my probation I’d be fired because while I answered that one customer in depth, my responsiveness metrics would be shit, I’d have addressed fewer than expected tickets, and I’d be dying to escape. Kudos to all of you who can do a better job than I.
That’s kind of what Republicans are going for. The president prosecuted his enemies, with a rush job to make it look sort of good.
Personally I’m happier with going through all due process to prosecute this particular criminal, and that it is not in the hands of the sitting President

As a kid, we were constantly outside. In the summer, spend all day in the pool. Three seasons, in the woods. Any time, playing with neighbor kids. Winter, skiing, sledding, snow forts
Without doom scrolling, we had time for actual activities. Marathons of Risk or Monopoly. Assembling and painting scale models. Building, fixing, or repairing whatever needed it
And there were constant commercials where he did that. Any sane adult would be quickly driven crazy by how ubiquitous, how repetitive and sappy it was.
We’re doing it now to support legacy industry, try to push development of local industry, and while there is a technological change going on. But we’re doing it at huge expense. Do you really think that huge expense will hold up after legacy manufacturers never show up for the race, lose their global market, and the rest of the world advances?

I guess I hope that is some sort of automation because no one deserves to be paid for that and I imagine an actual writer ready to commit suicide if stuck writing those

That’s the problem. That’s been the problem. Personally I do like Biden and what he’s done but he’s clearly too old. Even back in November when they started more actively campaigning, it already seemed too late to find someone else. Now it’s 7 months later
The only other candidate that has successfully raised his stature is Newsom, but if the internet is representative, the entire middle of the country is reflexively anti-California (plus he was campaigning for 2028)
