Biden’s latest attempt to convince everyone he has what it takes to stay in the race will air at 6:30 PM Eastern / 3:30 PM Pacific.

More on where and how to watch here:

https://apnews.com/article/how-to-watch-biden-press-conference-a70590e7574fc9680229b6b6289f6a02

My expectation is that it will be on all the usual sources. CNN, MSNBC, etc. etc. with in depth coverage on the talking head shows later tonight.

Edit Conference is running 20+ 50+ minutes late after already being pushed back 1 hour from 5:30 to 6:30.

Not sure if that’s good news or bad news.

Here we go! 58 minutes late, but he’s on a roll talking about NATO.

Oh, snap! Reminding everyone that Article 5 has only been used once… 9/11.

Speech ran less than 10 minutes, but was a strong speech, now the questions.

Fumbles on the first answer, calling out “Vice President Trump”. :(

Ended after almost an hour with one final question on “Vice President Trump” - Biden’s answer “Listen to him.” End conference.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it went!

    “Listen to him”

Why? Why the fuck would you say that, man?

I gave Biden a pass for the “Doing the goodest job” flub during the ABC News interview, because how do you answer that question on the spot without sounding like a nihilist? Obviously, he should have said that trust in the system is important and that checks and balances will still be a thing even if he doesn’t win, but he opted for the feel-good sentiment of “At least we tried our best!”.

But for this? The question was “Trump is already tweeting about you mixing up Vice President Harris with his name and citing it as evidence that you are not fit for office. How do you respond to that?” and he says listen to him. WTF man. Biden is his own worst enemy right now. He could have walked off stage and said nothing.

I dunno why people are so die hard for Biden to stay in the race. Most of those people will vote for whoever runs against Trump. I don’t care who they put up, I am voting for them, but if we put up someone who is clear, coherent and younger, I suspect it will attract a better turn out.

The guy asking the first question flubbed some words. And had his facts wrong about the UAW. Maybe he’s crazy and shouldn’t be a journalist?

This is the guy that stands between whatever this status quo is and the Trump brand of fascists. We’re cooked.

I’m starting to think the same. I used to think “elder abuse” was just a phrase RW trolls would bandy about in relation to Biden, but…I’m just feeling terribly about the guy.

I also feel that so many within the “liberal media” and so many in the party are just walking on eggshells when it comes to this. None of this is a good look, at least if we care about WINNING.

First Time I hear about Hamas using Ballistic missiles. Boy they leveled up pretty quickly. maybe Biden should outsource missile manufacturing to them, US will be cutting billion of dollars in R&D.

Well that was fun. Every body stand up and stay standing for at least 5 minutes.

Walk around the house, go to the yard, whatever; get your heart pumping blood.

It will be time to return to our regular doom posting shortly, but in the mean time, look out for yourselves kings and queens: Its your health that matters.

He did alright. Alright isn’t enough. He needed a homerun to unfuck this, and he hit a single. I think from here on out, Biden is a detriment to the party ticket. If he stays in, our fight becomes much harder.

I would have agreed with that analogy up until that last question. He seems to have this thing about not knowing when to quit…

Well, that started very bad, got a bit better in the middle, and then fell apart at the end. What I’m worried about is that he did just well enough to convince himself not to drop out. I doubt anyone feels much better after that though.

Jesus, Joe. That last statement you gave the Republicans the sound bite for the ages:

    “Listen to him.”

Fucking dumbass. Dumb dumb dumb dumb.

He could have just walked off stage.

But he couldn’t help himself, just one more, and what a whopper of a sound bite.

It’s almost like there’s a lesson in here about Joe Biden not knowing when to quit.

      “Listen to him.”

He meant “If you think I sound incoherent sometimes, you should listen to how bad he (Trump) sounds.”
