The article has a fantastic line about how Johnson’s views are so out of step, even the majority of the conservative justices on the supreme court don’t champion them. He agrees with Thomas, and Thomas is exceptionally unique in just how insanely conservative he is.

As a fun bonus, the article also has quotes of him praising Trump, if you ever wanted to see the moral bankruptcy of evangelicals laid completely bare to see.

Modest. absolutely. Can’t have the pics of him mouthing leather and a ball gag while he watches his wife getting railed by the pool boy hitting the press . . . or was that Falwell? Shit, I don’t remember. I can’t keep my Christofascist scandals straight* anymore, sorry.

(*Or gaily forward, as the case may be.)

…if you ever wanted to see the moral bankruptcy of evangelicals laid completely bare to see.

The scariest part to me is that the moral bankruptcy you describe makes it easy to imagine one of them convincing themselves that God wants them to off Biden and Harris to give us President Johnson. Not that they could succeed, but I can’t help but wonder if someone might try.

God wants them to off Biden and Harris to give us President Johnson.

I am convinced that is exactly why he was chosen as speaker. Out of nowhere he is third in line for the presidency – and ready to slide into office should there be another coup attempt, armed with his absolute confidence that Evil resides in everyone who does not look, think, or act like him and should be wiped off the map, praise be to Jeebus who loves all (except the Evil ones; see above. Terms and conditions may apply.).
