EDIT : !loneliness@lemmy.today has been created . The /c/ will also work as suicide watch. It was @wesker@lemmy.world 's idea to change the /c/ to include lonely people more .

I have been wondering why lemmy has nothing that is active and modded (which is bad for a /c/ like that ) . But i don’t wanna have any fall back from the law as i am quite brock atm so is there any such risk ? I am proposing this idea and will only carry on according to what majority thinks . I would’nt say i have much qualification except i am studying a branch of psychology (emphasis on the " studying " and i may not even complete it and go do something else but people do tell me i am a natural ) and really do wanna help people with those problem and will take dm’s of people who wanna just talk or rant or just feeling alone as that is what i would’ve wanted if i was like them . Anyway share your thoughts ?

    It’s something that seems like a great idea, but likely carries a huge responsibility, legally and morally.

    If I had to make a suggestion, start something a little less “loaded” but still greatly beneficial to people in need. Perhaps a loneliness support community?

        I think you’ll be doing a great service, and will reach more people. Not everyone gets to the point of feeling suicidal, but plenty of people feel lonely at times, and could benefit from talking about it.

          Hmm yes the only problem is then i can only help the people who is starting to have this thought and not the ones who are in real danger but i guess i can’t save everyone (and does people care if an internet person told them they will miss them ?)

      Yes i am concerned about the legality as i have (at least i think) the moral ability to carry a sub like that and it would be what i will be doing if i do go down the psychology path in my life (which i haven’t decided yet but probably will be as i am good at it (atleast everyone tells me i am natural) and also interested in ) like i can try to help out everyone but if a troll got in and harrased the users or something i will be helpless so i am really torn between that .
