Hello guys and gals, it’s me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at a situation where one of the biggest brands in the world of NFTs, Bored Apes Yacht Club hosted an event in Hong Kong that left it’s attendees potentially blind for the rest of their lives.

Note from me the poster: I added a bit title, because the original title is not descriptive.

Not unshielded, short-wave UV lamps used for sterilization. Stupid people sourcing the wrong lamps and stupid operators smelling ozone and not knowing what it means.

Not sure what’s worse, NFTs or the absolute lack of concern most who invest in them have for things like the wellbeing of others

It doesn’t say ‘forever’. It says ‘for the rest of their lives’ so it depends how much time they have left.

Big Clive (electronics channel on YouTube) took a look at this yesterday. Analysing photos of the event, he determined that it was likely the lighting by the toilet facilities (or rather what looked like a sort of toilet-themed art installation, presumably near the facilities) that may be responsible, as they appear to have used clear unfiltered UVC lamps to light the area.

It could be that a sub-contractor might be the culprits rather than the organisers themselves (although ultimate responsibility may fall with them).
