Traffic was awful heading to my social sports training tonight, but had fun once I finally got there. Hadn’t been for a few weeks. There’s just some days I need to be around a group of people. Made the drive worth it.

I wish my boys could talk a bit more. Something was bothering one of them tonight and he couldn’t get to sleep, I wish he could tell me what it was

Depending on their ages, they sometimes lack the vocabulary to put their feelings into words, especially if they’re new feelings or sort of vague feelings or worries. It’s frustrating because it’s hard to know what prompts to give to get them talking. Sounds like you’re doing the right thing and you’re there for them and they know that, that’s all you can do sometimes.

Their speech was always going to be delayed because they’re twins. One is putting together two word sentences pretty consistently now and the other understands everything but doesn’t talk as much.

I’ve put together some flashcards using the program Anki and it has really helped them start recognising things and saying a few words

First class survived. Don’t think I made a tit of myself. Making friends seems unlikely though.

I’m stoned, a little faint after changing the bandage (just a non-stick one held one with normal bandaids lol) so lying on the couch. I’m such a pussy when it comes to my own body - I can watch and even help with wounds, but when it’s my wound… Ugh!

Got a bag of twisties though! #winning

Starting piano / guitar lessons on Thursday. By that, I mean I am alternating between instruments until I pick one. Thinking of going with piano because I learnt it as a kid, but am considering guitar for something different, and also I wanna be a rockstar.

Nah, not a rock star. Too much pressure and it takes over your life. You can never do normal stuff again.

You want a single smash one hit wonder that gives you enough to live it up for a year, before you invest $10 Million or so. Then retire into obscurity living very comfortably off your investments for the rest of your life. 5% of $10 Million is an annual allowance of $500k.

If you do want a lasting career, you want someone with the wealth and lifestyle, but not the fame. Someone like Dianne Warren or Max Martin. You can walk safely down the Street and nobody knows who you are. The only circles you’re famous in are rock stars and movie directors.

They’re quite complementary instruments so you may end up sticking with both, even if you only pay for lessons for one

Mixed some midori with some fruit juice. Not too bad.

    Now I need ice cubes.

Yep, it was that sort of a day.

One of my clients got pissed off at the slow pace of their projects, and decided to bring in a 3rd party “project partner”. Tomorrow I’m having a “conversation” with Senior Leadership Team. I have a real bad feeling I’m about to be scapegoated for the failures of the project team because the project team manager is besties with my manager. I hate this feeling so fucking much.

I appreciate it man. Let’s see how it plays out. It’d suck to be looking for a new job a few days before my birthday.

I’m OK money wise for a while, but I don’t think I can do another 6 months without a job.

Let’s hope things don’t happen that fast. Even if they do, the job market is weirdly hot this time of year.

My boys’ birthday is this Saturday as well so I get how you feel. I think you’ll be able to ride it out until past Christmas

I guzzled the appropriate amount of water on Sunday and Monday, as my vein gushed a tad yesterday lol. First time 'round last year, the machine kept beeping because my pressure was low, because I didn’t eat or drink enough.

This time, I filled that bag up quicksmart! Had a Nippy’s Iced Coffee and some potato chips after. But yeah, now my elbow-pit is rather sore, I keep catastrophising and think it’s still bleeding and I don’t want to look, as it was when I changed the dressing yesterday (3 hours afterwards).

But! No complaints! Follow the directions and drink heaps of water!

Edit: actually, the only complaint is the bruise on my left middle finger from the haemoglobin test. I forget how much the tips of the fingers are used until one is sore 😅

Oh my God we had someone like this at my old workplace and he was just insufferable. In the field, in meetings, just never knew when to stfu with his bad takes. Nobody liked him. Claimed he had ASD but after a certain point it’s like no, you’re a jerk with ASD. Definitely glad we don’t have anyone like him where I work now

Really bad end to the day even if it only lasted for 10-15 mins.

Not looking forward to seeing how the rest of the time goes until I go on break.

Hopefully the steps put in place for the future will prevent future altercations from occurring.

Nothing like dealing with someone who thinks the way to solve problems is to enact revenge and thinking that’s the right way of doing things.

That’s cos the game is not ‘getting the work done’, the game is ‘being top dog’. I agree with melba that this goes nowhere good. Put on your own oxygen mask first. Good to know that steps are being taken.

I reported everything and some steps are being put in place.

It’s not my safety that I’m worried about but I do have to deal with the stubbornness and attitude which makes is very unpleasant to end the day.
