Can anyone explain how or why the American election caused classes to be cancelled?

Back in university, we would be given the day off to actually vote.

Back in grade school, we would sometimes be given the day off… because the polling places were in our gymnasiums and they didn’t want a bunch of random adults walking around children to go poke some chads.

I am not talking for campain or voting, I’m asking how it is that because Trump won to become president, why are schools cancelling class so students can process or workthrough the trauma of Trump getting the most votes.

Ah. So you are just a chud ranting about how it is woke that people took mental health days.

I apologize for thinking you had a genuine question and please go fuck yourself.

It’s a question about how does Trump winning affect the ability to attend class, work on assignments, complete coarse work, like students have always done. How does Trump winning cause people to be unable to do schoolwork and get to class?

In the offhand chance this is a genuine question, it’s because a large number of people in this country are essentially traumatized at the prospect of a pedophile, convicted felon, rapist, fascist in the white house, and schools know that students who are so preoccupied won’t be able to learn/pay attention in class, so they give them a break to allow time to focuse on processing the trauma from the election.

Also, kids here on student visas now have to face the very real possibility they will get revoked and deported on a whim.

If it’s that much of a struggle, how will they ever be capable of succeeding over the next 30 years working with people that they despise, or possibly work with people that mock them and make fun of them? My point being, if they can’t do school because of an opinion of someone, they are only making the misery all self induced. There are no timeouts in life so when life gets unbearable and overwhelming, all you can do is stay focused on the future and keep going.

By the way you talk, you crumble if something isn’t exactly the way you want it to be.

I agree that the government is the problem in society and people must never stop fighting government power and opnly reject and defy any attempted authority. Crush and dismantle the government.

Your borderline illiteracy makes me wonder if you’re actually in school or just some basement dwelling bottom feeder trying to understand how anything outside of your dumpster impacts anything.

Just google the words “mental health” and “anxiety” and do your research. You’ll figure it out if you’re not completely braindead.

As a queer person who’s seen what Project 2025 proposes to do, the election results have made me genuinely fear for my life and the life of my friends and family who are also queer or trans (or both).

The fact you need to question why this would affect people so much tells me you are totally ignorant of what Trump and his cronies plan to do or that you’re okay with it.

Our schools were closed Tuesday because some of the schools were voting locations.

Can you elaborate? Because that doesn’t seem to be the case. Where are you located?

In some states election day is a state holiday so as many people as possible can vote. My state is one of those states.
