I was trying to figure out for way too long how he came to sportsexperts.
I thought this was about this store:
Funny he called it dick’S not dick, what does he have going on down there?
Microsoft, Office Max and Bass Pro Shop sure have odd names huh.
“Windows”
The story about how Apple got its name is basically that.
The original employees were brainstorming what to call the company. Steve said just call it Apple. Everyone hated that idea. Steve barked back and said if none of you can come up with a better name than that, we’re calling it Apple. And the rest is history.
I don’t think that’s how it happened. Their logo is an apple with a bite out of it because it represents knowledge, you know, like Adam and Eve taking a bite out of the tree of Knowledge of good and evil.
That logo came later. This was the original logo:

They might’ve come up with that later, though.
Wasted opportunity to make the last one Microsoft
I was certain it was going to be Microsoft and was very disappointed when I learned about Dick’s.

I feel like US has a store chain with every conceivable name at this point.
And hearing about chains called like Five Guys just sounds weird to be honest.
There’s also a restaurant chain which is also named Dick’s
The “Eat some Dick’s” jokes write themselves.
What the fuck Richard
I feel like you could craft us chain store names into some innuendo sentence or even paragraph
every conceivable name
Yeah, there used to be a Gaylords department store.
At least that one makes sense for a store, they probably got a lot of their stock in gaylords.
Wait till you find out about Two Men and a Truck!
