the US touts itself as being a united fifty states but in truth we are fifty different countries all with different ways of governing and different boot choices for the cops that help keep the citizens down

don’t forget Biden throughout his whole career is on record saying he firmly believes in the Catholic Church and his politics do reflect that

both parties have tried to push their bible views on the public at large

Some believe in a separation of church and state. Some do not.

Besides, there is nothing in the Bible about abortion. This is a made up wedge issue created by Pat Robinson during the Reagan years.

Well, there is something in the Bible about abortion… it says to give an abortifacient to women suspected of cheating on their husbands. If she miscarried, means she was cheating. If that’s not fucked up, I don’t know what is.

Not only that, but according to the Bible, life begins at the first breath taken after birth. Also according to the Bible, the punishment for injuring a woman and causing her to miscarry is the same as for loss of property, which is dramatically different from the punishment for murder.

Kinda takes the wind out of the “abortion is murder” argument, from a biblical perspective, at least.

My guy. I live in a deep red area and am very lucky that it is kept in check by the blue state government. I have no idea how the poor fuckers stuck in the bible belt survive it.

Both sides ain’t the same. Its fucked to begin to suggest so.

I’m not American. Did Biden limit abortion?

him along with other Democrats never fully backed it and it has always just been a talking point for them like universal healthcare

sounds good and the voters are able to chomp on it but the Democrats gum everything never putting teeth in

Not recently, but he used to support the hyde amendment. Which prevented federal funds from being spend on abortion care-low income assistance programs, etc.

Everybody supports Hyde. It’s in every finance bill. You can truthfully say everyone voted for it. Including, for instance, AOC.

It gets tacked on to that which must pass, yes, but I was under the impression years ago he was a more stalwart supporter of it-which to his credit, he’s done a complete 180 on in recent years.

I guess it really doesn’t matter what your imagined level of support is if you vote for the measure.

Hm. Does this line of argument want me to be displeased with AOC? Or to wave off the disporportional hardship and ruin metered out by Hyde? It’s a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world and I’m gonna haveta to admire AOC and still remember the faces of those would advocate roadblocks to basic rights in the off chance our paths cross in hell. 🤷‍♂️
