Last month, the Bangladeshi government cracked down on protests by young people against it and the administration of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Over 200 students have been killed and over 7000 injured. The need the help of the rest of the world now.
Oof, state actors already going against their own word and arresting/abducting protestors while they first confirmed they wouldn’t… Can’t make out if this is happening now or before PM resignation.
The resignation was a few hours ago. I would assume that the deaths this article talks about are those from before.
However there is currently a power vacuum and there is a risk of further violence. Many innocent people were killed, and those people might not be happy with the previous government “getting away”
I hope the country finds peace, and finally experiences a proper democracy
