Yeah there’s a lot of confusion here, even the mixed messaging from the athlete who withdrew. They talk about the warrior spirit. Always fighting, not giving up… And then those statements are juxtaposed against the I got hit too hard, I couldn’t continue on, my nose felt bad. I’m not critiquing the athlete, they should be able to withdraw whenever they want to, it’s just the messaging they’re giving is confused.
