I am a full atheist now and no longer a Christian, but I smoked enough of it over three and a half decades to know that not only does Trump now have most of the biblical qualifications to apply for the job of Abomination in Chief, the whole point of ongoing GOP support for Israel’s open and unhidden genocide in Gaza is because these GOP religious kooks are trying to bring about The End Times by creating the pre-apocalyptic biblical situation of “Jerusalem surrounded by armies” and thus force the Second Coming.
I’m not even joking, though I wish I were. It is the most godless interpretation of the Second Coming theology I have ever seen. I guess it never occurred to these pseudo-Christians that if you can punch your deity’s plane ticket for him, your deity is no god at all and just your personal invisible sky bitch, but that’s the core of the twisted dogma that lies directly underneath so much of this.
