  • A tiny group within a population of over 2 million.

Honestly what the fuck are comments like this supposed to mean? You think they deserve to be slaughtered, down to the last child, because of what a small extremist group form the same region did? You know half the people in Gaza are under 18?

Do you think they all voted for this? Hamas took control after netanyahu created and funded them to destabilize the Gaza strip, this is a known fact that they’ve basically admitted. He made sure they were the only governing body that could e, ist so they could excuse anything they wanted to do to the gazans they keep in an open-air prison.

I hope the FBI or whatever the equivalent in your country is keeps pro-genocide people like you on a watch list.

Same here in the US Midwest. 90% of these fabled amazing local businesses are incredibly overpriced and often run by assholes who treat you like shit, treat their employees even worse, and often don’t know their products any better than a Walmart employee. Also often incredibly right wing, which of course connects to them treating their employees like shit again.

If I’m going to support bad people and bad business I’d rather do it in a way that benefits me.

  • I do wonder how much the average people commenting would care if musk had nothing to do with this.

It’s an issue, but it’s an issue scientists knew was coming for decades now. Starlink isn’t the only company putting satellites into low earth orbit. They aren’t the first and the amount of them will just keep coming.

What we need is regulations and requirements for how many, what purpose, how they’ll be dealt with if something goes wrong and when they’re no longer needed, etc. Getting people to share satellites that are already there (when possible) and not putting up satellites that are redundant or don’t provide that much benefit versus non-satellite options or further orbit options will be important.

But all these mindless circlejerkers only talking about musk and wanting starlink “taken down” are really polluting the topic with meaningless bullshit. It’s unfortunate people are bringing these mindless circlejerks over from reddit.

  • All the mindless circlejerking and echochambers. I hope the federation helps split up communities about the same topic which should help prevent echochambers from being as strong, and keep people seeing more information and opinions about the same topic.

I was so tired of seeing blatant lies and misinformation being spread just because it fit people’s narratives. Like those “dawn project” tesla videos, people hate musk so much (which I’m sure all the much worse billionaires love), so they feel they must hate teslas too, so they keep spreading those videos that have been debunked and proven incredibly questionable that were made by a competitor that’s been failing to compete. That’s just one tiny example. Don’t even get me started on the outright lights and misinformation people spread about crypto.

And of course if anyone ever tried to correct anyone, share actual facts, real articles from trusted sources, anything that went against a particular thread’s circlejerk, you would just be harassed, personally insulted, and downvoted immediately. It was so hilarious and sad spending time responding to someone’s bullshit with real information and a real argument just for them to do a one-liner personal insult based on nothing, because they knew they didn’t actually have anything but the circlejerk is all that really ever mattered.

I’m ranting, but this attitude people have of just not caring about reality when the lies fit what the circlejerking hivemind wants is one of my biggest gripes about modern internet and it’s incredibly dangerous. It’s exactly the mindset that trump supporters have that allows them to believe whatever the fuck they want and that led to people dying at the capitol, and it’s the type of mindset that will eventually lead to far worse things if social media companies don’t do more to combat misinformation and echochambers.
