I prefer the 32 bit signed integer underflow in my favor.
Bart: Hmm. Maybe if I stand next to the hormones looking sad, someone will feel sorry for me and buy me one.
Woman: Emily, don’t you already have estrogen?
Emily: No, Mom, you idiot! I have Progesterone, and Finasteride, and Cyproterone Acetate, stupid.
Woman: Oh, I’m sorry, honey. We’ll take the estrogen.
Gavin: Get two. I’m not sharing with Kaitlin!
I wonder why ad tech can‘t be „Let‘s show ads that correspond to what‘s being talked about on that website.“ Kinda like what Google suggested with Topics but without following me through the internet.
It’s fine. Transitioning to Couchbase was fine. Was a bit weird getting used to NoSQL… Oh you mean my hormone therapy!
Oh, would you look at the time! It’s the year of the fediverse!
The Satanic Temple be like: “It’s free real estate”
I had such an apologetic coming up to me. When i told them my name was “‘Julia’); DROP TABLE neighborhoods;” they were immediately irate!
Nah, they prefer prescriptivism. Actually, Terf Island still makes sense from that lens.
I’m not sure, but there’s a descriptivism/prescriptivism joke in there somewhere.
Out of curiosity: What makes The Beatles misogynistic?
SimCity 4 taught me: NO, JUST ONE MORE LANE WILL NOT SOLVE CRAPPY CITY PLANNING! And it teaches me the value of a good headphone or speaker setup every time i hear that certified banger of a soundtrack!
There is a single aspect in which the Switch remains superior: Simplicity. Sure, you could take the time once to set up Yuzu and your Switch games and be rewarded with superior performance.
But the technically less experienced user might be put off by the fact that you can‘t just plonk in the game and play it. That‘s however not exclusive to the Switch.
I tried downloading Switch games from uuuuh… rather bespoke sites and they had a rather uuuuh… curious idea of what ads you could throw into the users face. Vivaldi‘s integrated adblocker simply couldn‘t handle those sites. That discouraged me from downloading games for now. Luckily MIG-Dumper is there to save the day and allow me to back up my games to later play them in Yuzu.
Isn‘t the battery simply mounted with sticky tape and thanks to the case being screwed in still fessibly replaceable by the user?
Apple cites security concerns for killing PWAs in europe. I mean they could‘ve made changes to the system to allow running PWAs in other browser engines by offering an API in which other applications could hook themselves into, akin to how Android did it with the web activity that is used by other apps.
But then that would mean conceding to the EU and we can‘t have that, can we?
The EU forced Microsoft to offer a browser picker dialog. I’ve been wondering where that went and according to Wikipedia that judgement that compelled Microsoft to make the browser picker has expired. And thus… Microsoft dropped it immediately.
Apple: “Look, we made an ad with a woman depicting mother nature. Look at how self-aware and quirky we are.”
Me: (writes a short fanfic of mother nature beating Tim Cook up so bad, it might look like a Family Guy cutaway)
How did Microsoft not crush this project already?
