Scrip is kinda low key a thing again. My SO works for wawa and there is definitely some scrip vibe. They have a company store, a points reward system, they will put you through school if you take classes that benefit the Corp, and the only way to move up is to basically bootlick management at weird company festivals.

It all has this very dystopian vibe of “everything within the corporation eco system” and my SO is a very principled women who is shy and kind and she refuses to take a step to elevate herself within the Corp, but getting a union going is pretty hard where we’re at, everyone is very much of the boot tasting, welfare queen bad variety.

I was literally just realizing that now. I just checked inbox for the first time, and it’s pretty annoying. I would mind less if there was at least the entire comment chain within that top comment, cause I often forget what the hell I even said. I was using jerboa before, and there are features I’m really really missing. Sync would be great for perpetual lurker, but I’m addicted to commenting lol. No post creation also a drag, so I’ll just use sync and jerboa in tandem for now.

I used jerboa for last few months, but I got sync the other day, and it is very smooth but I’m really missing certain things from jerboa I found super intuitive. Also in sync I can’t seem to highlight, copy, paste from a posted comment…perhaps that’s a paid feature only? My view from my window(they gave me one of the big rooms all by myself, the only one with windows, ptsd i think) was OK. Middle of nowhere farm and small Appalachian Mt chain. We had to sneak onto a ps3 to use youtube lol. One night i was watching lighting rolling around the sky and hills thru my big window, laying on my back, reflecting off the ceiling. The rehab sucked. It really did. But I had so much fun. They tried to take our communal volleyball game over some bullshit and we flipped shit and got everyone riled up. We kept our fkn volleyball. …it was a state run rehab with everyone fresh out of jail. Never laughed so hard in my life.

I’m almost 1.5 years clean from a decade+ run on fent and benzos. Wouldn’t trade my experiences for the world, but I’m glad I’m myself now. Things are still fucked up, and they’ll always be for me, but I’m working on it…

I installed sync yesterday, and it’s nice. It’s very usable without paying for it. In fact, the only reason I could see paying at all is to support the creator. The ads are negligible. I had to look for them to notice em. Basically if you don’t wanna use it, don’t. Not very complicated imo. There’s other apps and the web browser. Your paying for the interface not the content.

Yea I have lately found myself very frustrated with liberals, and politics as a whole lately. I browse both right and left stuff online and they each mirror eachothers sentiments like sports team fandoms. The liberals just hold the dnc party line in the name of fighting fascism cause most of them have done extremely well in the current political and economic climate, whether they admit it or not, capitalism and american democracy has suited them just fine and they don’t wanna release the pearls just yet. The right is just shit, tho there are some lines of logic from conservatives I don’t outright dismiss, but they’re mostly just ignorant assholes. 🤷 I voted Biden, I will again, but the whole wasted vote shit is just laughable tbh. Give me something good, and I’ll pick it.

I think if anything, capitalism goes against our nature. But also, tbf, it’s worth pointing out, and I only have an anecdote for you, that people do seem to behave differently in large groups compared to smaller, where the larger group tends to lend itself to our worse nature, but even that can be atributed to external forces in some regards.

Tbh I don’t know. Communism feels like our natural state, and getting back there is going to be extremely hard with the hole we’ve dug for ourselves.

In my recent dive into the literature, I’ve found that I’m a pretty extreme leftist… But growing up in a capitalist society ive learned to shun people, avoid at all costs, and I’ve become basically a hermit, denouncing all forms of govt as futile, especially given our current circumstances as a species.

I’m not really too educated on theory, but this seems disingenuous. Yes it has failed, and so has our current capitalism, ime.

I think in USA, we have a unique situation to give it another spin, and for it to be successful.

The only way to reign in the runaway greed train is to introduce some type of socialism, and that is a natural progression en route to “true” communism. Which, imo, is going to take a very long time, realistically.

Milk as a food item would be fine if it wasn’t for our ridiculous population, where the only way to get it to the masses is through fkd up farming practices. Alcohol is also not safe from the same type of criticism. It takes water to grow the plants to make the alcohol. Water that is not renewable. Not to mention it is highly addictive and can cause death from ocerconsumption, doing dumb shit while drunk or while detoxing. Is that worth the resources that go into it? I dunno.
