"As reported by Eurogamer, 48-year-old Anthony Bray, of Nuneaton in Warwickshire, England, was spotted carrying a replica of the iconic weapon from Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series openly in the local town centre.
Warwickshire Police spotted Bray on June 8 via CCTV walking down the street with something in his hand. Bray was said to have approached officers with the item visible in his hand, at which point he was arrested as he was carrying a bladed article."

Yes. I am proud (?) to say that in my US state I could legally carry a full size functional Master Sword, or any other sword, on my belt or strapped to my back provided I didn’t brandish it at anyone without due cause.
It would technically be illegal to conceal without a permit, though, which raises some interesting logistical questions.

I’ve seen Highlander, you can conceal a full size katana in the inside breast pocket of a trench coat. You can even go for a run with it there and the coat will flap and move like the sword isn’t even there.

It’s contextual. If someone is constantly getting hit with charges there is an issue. Either the person or the cops. I’m guessing it’s the person if he keeps getting convicted. I’m not looking into every detail of each case he has.

So says you. Violent crime is much lower in some countries because of heavy handed punishments on weapons.
