My source is this: https://telewebion.com/live/irinn
The other thread was submitted to the wrong ‘sub’ (?). I make it here so mods have no reason to remove my post.
Recap: Iranian president’s helicopter has crashed; I personally don’t care about politics but I noticed Western sources:
1- Pronounce Persian names like it’s Arabic, and this really blew a fuse in my brain;
2- Mistranslate lexical and semantic aspects of Persian;
3- Put wrong words between quotes;
So this is a live update for those care about LINGUISTICALLY CORRECT news.
Note: I don’t care really, and I live in Iran, so most people don’t care, so I think this is a good ‘sub’ (what are Lemmy’s equivalent of subs?).
Iran is not really a place that’s often on the news, most people on either side of it don’t know much about it, or even know what language we speak (we don’t speak any ‘language’, we speak languageS). This is the biggest news that’s came out of Iran in like 20 years, it’s not a country that concerns itself with external conflicts. So I thought this would be a good place for people to learn about this obscure place.
Updates Begin
Update 1:
- The Fog that caused the crash is gone, but it’s not nighttime. So this makes the rescue effort still troublesome.
The hell is this in shitpost? I specifically don’t follow news so I don’t see this kind of stuff.
