Not sure why you’re downvoted. It’s very much true and was the same on Reddit. Moderation on Lemmy is a lot more lax comparatively, or goes into the opposite political spectrum due to all the Tankie instances, but ultimately it follows the same principle. It’s all just private people, potentially on a power trip or too tired to differentiate the bullshit with honest mistakes, and there’s no overarching self regulation that ultimately protects users from potential mod or admin abuse.
