For the click-bait avoiders: the issue the article mentions is that some iPhones’ alarms aren’t going off.
This has been an issue in the past for me as well, so I hope they fix it fully.
I’ve had some failed alarms this week, my iPhone alarm had been fairly reliable before. Not sure why it’s suddenly gone awry.
Thankfully I have the bedroom lights set to turn on at the same time as the alarm is set, so I still get woken up. Yay home automation!
Holy shit clickbait to the max, “Issues with alarm” = “Alarming iPhone issue”, it’s hilarious
I suspected something like this and didn’t reward them with a click. I want news without sensationalism and all the “slamming” and other bullshit.
I don’t think it was intended to be sensationalist, just a pun with the words. It’s one of those non-issue stories that are sort of tongue in cheek so the writer has a bit of fun.
I think most outlets have pretty much given up writing anything serious about Apple based alarm issues as they’ve been a thing for years (whether it’s user error or otherwise), hence why this one in particular is just quoting people on TikTok of all places.
Thanks for the explanation. I’m just a dumb android user and easily alarmed.
Oh no so am I, but I’ve seen enough of these stories in the past to know it’s a common occurrence ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s been a problem for years. I cannot use the standard bedtime alarm. From my experience, it seems it may be an issue if you have the “focus” change it’s state at the same time as your alarm goes off.
I think I finally isolated my issue with the alarms. It’s CarPlay. It resets my alarm audio to 0% after I disconnect. I just set up an “audio level reset” shortcut that sets alarm volume to 80% and set it to run when CarPlay disconnects.
The best phone on the world. iPhone users don’t need alarms anyways, i live better than my president
