I use a custom filters for uBlock Origin:
www.youtube.com##:matches-path(/)a#thumbnail[href*="/shorts"]:upward(7)www.youtube.com##:matches-path(/)a#endpoint[title*="Shorts"]Might need some adjusting depending on OS and browser (I use this for chrome on mac.)
YouTube Enhancer is one option but there are ones that are made just to remove shorts too.
