Adding to the mountain of evidence that Israel is engaged in a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera on Thursday aired footage of what the news outlet reported was an Israeli drone targeting four Palestinians in Khan Younis last month.

Those killed by the unmanned aerial vehicle in the rubble of the southern Gaza city appear to be unarmed teenagers or young men. According to a translation of the coverage, they were not identified in the reporting.

Correct me if I’m wrong but this doesn’t look like a footage of a drone killing anyone. Just a drone looking at something. Maybe another drone did that, yes. Maybe there were mines, yes. But not what the title suggests.

This is an Israeli surveillance drone looking at an attack. I’ve been looking at Ukraine war footage, and that’s the viewing angle of most videos out of that conflict. They have eyes on the target and then call in a strike, and observe the strike so they know what the result is. Only sometimes do you see things from the POV of the attack drone, and even then that’s usually just a second angle.

And it’s not a mine. You can see some projectile coming in in 1 or 2 frames before the explosions.

A confusing thing for me about this report is … where did this footage come from? Was this actual footage from an Israeli drone? Was it footage from someone else who filmed the strike?

I fully support the Palestinians and completely abhor what the IDF is doing but I’m completely at a loss as to where this footage came from.

Are the Israelis that callous as to freely release footage this graphic and blatantly horrific for the public to see? Or was it secretly acquired? Or is this footage from someone else in some other way?

It’s absolutely horrible that this is even happening … it’s somehow even more horrible to have footage of the actual acts happening and it’s aftermath and the world generally just not reacting to any of it.

This isn’t an Israeli problem … we’re all complicit in making this possible … and we’re all complicit in allowing it to continue.

We haven’t evolved … we’re no better than our ancestors a thousand years ago … we’re just more efficient about how terrible we can be to one another.

I’m not exactly an atheist … I believe in something in my own way without following any religion or in wanting to force any of my beliefs on anyone.

But if there is evidence for the absence of God and the folly of Christian/Jewish/Muslim (Judeo-Christian) religions … what’s happening in Palestine affirms that all these religions are just runaway historic cults that are absolutely destroying our world.

This is just western settler colonialism as we’ve seen for the last few centuries. This region is a bridge between the Middle-East and Africa, and serves as a great base for imperial core countries like the US to destabilize the Middle-East and keep them from uniting.

Its formation used common british colonization tactics [III], with companies literally named “Colonization Commission”, “Jewish Colonial Trust” and the like.

Theodor Herzl, founder of the colonial ideology he called “zionism”, was himself also just a racist colonizer by his own admission, and saw it as bringing ‘civilization’ to ‘barbarians’ as the rest of Europe did when they were colonizing and enslaving Africa and Asia:

“We should there form a portion of a rampart of Europe against Asia, an outpost of civilization as opposed to barbarism. We should as a neutral State remain in contact with all Europe, which would have to guarantee our existence.” Source [II]

Only difference now is that the US has been the de facto leader of the imperial core since WW2, no longer UK in Europe.
