Breaking: House impeaches Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, succeeding on second try, in a rebuke of Biden’s immigration policy. The resolution is non-binding, however, and may not go very far in the Senate because even some Republicans don’t believe that Mayorkas’s actions clear the bar for the high crimes and misdemeanors necessary for conviction. But Mayorkas is the first sitting Cabinet secretary to be impeached in 150 years. This story will be updated.
