“Children” “People aged 18 and younger”
These are not the same thing. “Children” are people under 18*, if the deal included people who were 18 it would have been false to call those adults “children”. They could have said, “women, children, and 18 year old men” but that would have been even clunkier than “people aged 18 and younger” as the latter was clearly the cohort intended by the deal.

This article was amended on 23 November 2023 because an earlier version referred to the Palestinian prisoners to be released as “women and people aged 18 and younger”. That was changed to “women and children”
The other wording of israeli Hostages vs Palestinian Prisoners is also damning since many Palestinian children were kidnapped and held hostage by israel without any charges. More Palestinians are being held hostage by israel than israelis by Hamas.
Along with many of their articles using the same type of passive voice for the “deaths” of Palestinians and the “killing” or israeli’s such as the current one. This needs to be mentioned so these outlets start receiving flak for it and start using consistent wording instead of their current biased langauge.
