US officials claim this isn’t true. It will be interesting to see whos propagada this is. https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2024/jan/22/middle-east-crisis-live-updates-gaza-hostages-families-protest-release-benjamin-netanyahu-israel-hamas-war-eu-palestine-talks?page=with:block-65aebc308f0805c8927545af#block-65aebc308f0805c8927545af
But I don’t exactly trust Xinhua News Agency “the official state news agency of the People’s Republic of China.”

I would certainly trust Chinese official news agency, which is a neutral party, over whatever US, that’s an active participant in the conflict, is claiming. And in fact, US denied another attack just a few days ago that we now have video evidence for, so US has already been caught lying once here https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/video-of-anti-ship-missile-striking-ship-during-red-sea-attack-surfaces
I swear I’m not trying to sea lion you here, I just can’t find any information about the US denying that attack. All I can find are articles 6 to 7 days saying they did hit that ship with a missile.
I may have remembered wrong, I thought I saw an initial denial before the video was posted but can’t find it either at this point. I guess we’ll see if there’s a confirmation for this one in the next few days.
State media has no real reason to lie when it relates to matters not relating to the state. They could just as easily omit the coverage, so I’m more liable to believe Xinhua than The Guardian (British) or Reuters (also British), both who participated in the strikes on Yemen.
“Xinhua tailors its pro-Chinese government message to the nuances of each international audience.[3][4] The organization has faced criticism for spreading propaganda and disinformation and for criticizing people, groups, or movements critical of the Chinese government and its policies.[5][6][7]”

State media absolutely has reason to lie about effectiveness of rival militaries.
Edit: media bias fact check calls them a 'questional source"

Sorry guys I think this is likely to be propaganda or they are just poorly sourced.
