Over 2024, Apex Legends showed the biggest drop in overall Steam concurrent players the game has ever seen. From a high of 470,696 in February 2024 to 140,830
I heard one of the main issues was alienating keyboard+mouse users by making controller players basically have native aimhack with how insane the aim assist was, while kbm had no aim assist. It was such a competitive advantage that top kbm players were playing with noob controller players and had no chance of ranking up. So all the top players had to switch to controller or lose. Crazy policy.
Marvel Rivals blocks console and PC from playing together. Specifically because console has such a huge advantage with how gimped their controls are, and with the fact that they enable literal developer sanctioned cheats to help people have fun. Then there are keyboard + mouse adapters and you get the aiming of a mouse with a sanctioned aimbot.
Actually this is wrong cross play is enabled by default and the game will even warn you that you’ll have a harder time finding console only gamers to play with.
From what I understand this is more about controllers being so bad for this kind of game that console developers regularly build in cheats like aim-bots officially, so why would it help if you connect a controller on your PC?
I guess to be fair then they would need to allow an option to disable cross-play not between console and PC but between controller players on either on one side and keyboard/mouse players on the other.

No, only quickplay, which is everything goes. Competetive is blocked crossplay.
Edit: I know because we tried it with people on xboxes and it didn’t let them compete
Is there no controller support on PC? Or how does that work

In Apex you get the same benefits on PC when you play with a controller.
