My dad’s sworn for decades that it must be “jack,” but he excludes meanings which require an additional preposition, like make out or stand up.
Just FIY those are called phrasal verbs and they’re probably the second worst thing Europeans invented after capitalism.

I don’t see a paywall (maybe stopped reading too early), but I hate the websites where content is mixed with ads, so you just scroll down trying to find “useful” bits. So it’s a no from me anyway
