I read this, got upset, took a drive and rationality kicked back in. Even if bullet ballots were higher and Trump had access to software after 2020, it still seems more likely that the average American was stupid, blamed Biden for inflation, and voted against their own interests. I’d still like an investigation in any case (Lord knows every accusation is a confession with these people) but let’s consider a few problems.
First, there weren’t really a lot of evidence of tampering day of, and logistically it would be hard to pull off some kind of ground game tampering without at least raising some eyebrows. In fact, day of exit polling was in line with things looking bad for Harris. There were of course actual interference in the form of bomb threats and of course record breaking disinformation, though the latter is somehow legal.
Second, the bullet ballots argument could be true but is more an indication of an abnormality. That could be a get it the vote with Gen Z males in swing states, it could be people paid to cast votes, it could be a lot of things. I think that deserves investigation, with emphasis on investigation and less on recount because even an influx of real bullet ballots is weird. If it’s a legitimate reason, it’d help both parties to know that that secret sauce was.
Lastly, Harris had a lot of legitimate problems with her campaign, mostly a result of the aforementioned inflation and general discontent people have after 2020. I literally teach social psychology and let me tell you, average human brains are easily manipulated into biased memory. She’d have done herself a service sticking to her initial vibes campaign and distancing herself from Biden as the do-over we were promised when he stepped down. Big R.I.P. there but whatever.
Point is, this was rattling in my brain on my drive home and now it’s a rant on Lemmy.
So what are they gonna do about it, annul the election and start over? Logistics of that would be monumental
I’ll bet if we wait long enough, nothing will keep happening.
Since Harris has conceded, the point is probably moot
I feel vindicated for suggesting that starlink connected voting machines were compromised and got downvoted to hell for it.
Guys for fucks sake can you SORT YOUR SHIT OUT oh my fucking god fuck my life / rip / fucking fuck
Interesting. Minnesota has ballot backed electronic voting (vote is done on paper, read by machine), and the presidential results were far closer than anyone here is admittedly happy about, but it’s not exactly possible to do ballot stuffing like this.
I can see one swing state having an anomaly like this possible - that’s an anomaly.
The 7 swing states that Trump won? That’s a pattern.
However, I also would want to know what the bullet ballots were for all 50 states, not just the ones neighboring the swing states states to say it’s a pattern.
But the other part where it’s specific counties thats weird. To me, that sounds more like organized efforts to get people to at least vote for president. A cyber attacker certainly wouldn’t use county voting participation data to find registered voters unlikely to vote and cast a bullet ballot for them… Right?
Some of this data is compelling, but this last bit now has me skeptical:
The 2004 Presidential election and a 2002 Senate election were also decried as fraudulent by experts, including Spoonamore—to no avail.
“I don’t know why John Kerry refused to engage nor why Max Cleland refused to engage. This is the third time I’ve walked into the public square, poured kerosene on myself and set myself on fire saying, ‘Hey, this election was defrauded.’ And all three times the same thing has happened. People just run around going, ‘Oh my God, don’t question elections. Oh my God.’ They keep questioning integrity. Well, I was right in 2002 and I was right in 2004.”
Anyone know if this Spoonamore guy is legit, or is he just some crank that’s been claiming the elections have been rigged for 20 years? Can anyone with expertise on these topics (statistics, cyber security, election process) weigh in on the claims here?
Leaning hard towards “been claiming elections have been rigged for 20 years”. He was asked how he got his numbers on reddit and said “yeah it doesn’t mean much without the actual counts” and handwaved the question away.
Really wish headlines would start being “One guy claims” instead of “Experts claim”. But that wouldn’t get as much engagement.
He keeps describing himself as a cyber security expert and data scientist, but hes actually a finance major and the only technical job he lists on his resume is 8 months as CTO at a tech company back in the mid 2000s.
I found his official complaint about 2004, which gives a good idea of the sort of non-evidence he considers significant. Overall he seems about as legit as anything Trump was trying to push in 2020.

As an actual cybersecurity expert, I can tell you that absolutely nothing in this writeup was logically sound. This guy is using the term “expert” as a way to fish for media attention. He hasn’t actually described any real method of attack, just rehashed a conspiracy theory with no evidence.
The bullet ballot thing is interesting, and worth looking into, but I need to actually validate that what he said about it jumping from 1% to 7% is actually true, and if that means what he says it means. 1:35,000,000,000 chances are rough, but show me the math if you’re gonna hand out figures like that.
if it’s the random dude on Twitter and this is a classic Twitter article then it’s likely a big nothing burger.
some dude on Twitter has been spouting that he’s a big security expert but last I looked at the tweets I was not convinced of anything
lots of words and no evidence

It hurts noone to do a few audits. If they come up clean, fine. If not, keep digging. Both sides should agree with that.
Both sides can’t agree on feeding children lunch.
Get this: after over 240 years of accusations of election fraud the first time an audit was conducted was in 2020. When there was no evidence of fraud.
Lol, pretty much every elections gets audited. It’s just not interesting because it’s routine and the results rarely change.
So we know 1 was legit, i guess that means it’s not possible for it to be tampered with.
Like every other time democrats will fail to act. I won’t hold my breath for recounts.
What is a bullet ballot/vote?
A ballot with only a single candidate/position filled out. No down ticket voting present with it.
A ballot with only a presidential vote and nothing else
If the data is there to warrant suspicion then they absolutely should do it. Who cares what it costs or how long it’ll take? We deserve a fair election.
Conservative: Hacked? That’s impossible. We won!
I’m going to say the same thing as the last election. Prove it. Don’t tell me about this weird thing or that weird thing. Show me exactly how votes were stolen or changed or whatever.
Didn’t read the article huh?
Seems like this is from people who (claim to have) demonstrated how it could be done on the hardware used in the election as part of their professional careers, are showing the data suggesting something like that was done, and are reaching out to officials to get a recount, which would be able to prove something was done to alter the results. Seems like demanding recounts is what should be done, just like in 2020.
Prison sentences were handed down, but not before the software was uploaded onto the internet, now easily accessible on Github, a well-known and legal site used by coders to access and modify software.
For an article so chock full of hyperlinks, you would think there would be one in this sentence.
ePollbooks are used in every polling station in the USA and are connected to the internet. Volunteers sign voters into the polling station to double-check they are in the correct precinct and ensure they haven’t cast their paper ballot elsewhere.
What?! No, they absolutely aren’t. I signed a paper poll book this year, just like I’ve always done.
They are calling for an immediate hand recount in key precincts which, they say, should swiftly show that a number of these ballots never existed.
How do you hand recount a ballot that doesn’t physically exist?
Most places use scanned ballots these days, or machines which print a vote receipt you leave in a box.
I’m sure some do, but the question wasn’t about them. The ones in my state certainly don’t.
i signed an ebook thing. and my ballot was printed on paper. maybe its not everywhere, but isnt it worth checking a few counties?
Exactly. The nice thing about this is that recounting is actually a lot easier in this case than a regular recount. You don’t need to recount the whole state. You’re just trying to determine if there was some massive swing. A few randomly selected precincts would be more than sufficient.
