Pre-order #XenobladeChronicles X: Definitive Edition: https://ninten.do/6005W3sxNRebuild humanity and survive on the mysterious planet Mira in this open-worl...
Pretty interesting that they are bringing this game out. We’ll be able to play all of the Xenoblade Chronicles games on the Switch, which is nice. Everyone needs to go out and waste about 500 hours on these games. At the very least XC 1-3 because that trilogy is so good, and ends so well.
What’s interesting to me is that the launch date is set for March, which means one of a few things:
Either the Switch 2 drops later than that (my guess around May), or this game will launch on both systems, or the Switch 2 is actually a fever dream and the regular Switch is Nintendo’s last console ever.
I spent like 40 hours on XC2 and uh, idk I really liked the world design but wasn’t a fan of the effectively gacha mechanics to unlock new fighters. The story seemed to have a really slow start (which I’m not necessarily against) but the combat wasn’t my thing unfortunately. The Japanese voice acting is definitely a lot better than the English, and was worth waiting for the download on even though I didn’t end up playing that far in.
Funny enough, the gacha was my favorite part of 2 since it forced me to work with what I had to make a good team that felt unique to me. I understand why it was unpopular, but I wouldn’t mind more single player games using gacha mechanics to make playthroughs feel unique.
Yeah, love XC 1-3, looking forward to play X now. Should also play the 3’s DLC before March.
As for Switch 2, let’s do some amateur level analysis:
They said Switch 2 will be announced this fiscal year, and October is pretty much over. I don’t think they will announced it in later half of November or December, that can stop people from getting current Switch during holidays.
Similarly they won’t announce it right after holidays, cause that will make people feel bad about their purchase if next one is announced right after it. So, my guess is Feb - March is when we will get the announcement. As for the release, I guess anywhere from late May to October.
If I recall correctly, Nintendo announced the Switch on Jimmy Fallon (gross) in December before it dropped the following spring, so there is some precedent. Though I would agree now is a different ballgame since the switch exists and they still want to sell them until they can’t.

2 in my opinion is the worst of the trilogy.
3 is a masterpiece, and doesn’t have that gotcha crap.

The first trailer was in October though. Jimmy Fallon thing came later.
