I am Gen-X. As a teen I was also a bit of a violent punk/thrash/metalhead. On occasion, skinheads would show up to a show. Without fail, a group of us with meet them outside and beat the fuck out of them. You don’t need to have fought in a world war. I have kicked nazi in the head and I think this time honored tradition should be restored in full.

PS: I see Doc Marten’s are back in fashion. Put those steel toes to good use. Kick a nazi on the coccyx.

      NAZI PUNKS FUCK OFF

Some of my favorite people are the SHARPs (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice). Folks who remember the history of punk and skins and will 100% throw down with any Nazis on sight.

And because of this, there are no more Nazis. Right?

Or maybe it’s not quite that simple, and the price of giving yourself that dopamine hit may be higher than you might realize.

Looks like randoms all say it’s a good idea, while former extremists and people whose life’s work is studying extremist movements, say it’s a bad idea, if your ultimate goal is to eradicate Nazism.

My ultimate goal was to shove my boot up a nazi’s ass and to make sure they never showed up to any of our parties.

I know that was your goal. My point is that evidence shows those actions are not actually conducive to that goal. The fact that you got into those fights multiple times (guess they didn’t all vanish after one beating, huh?) further backs that up.

But let’s see what a former skinhead has to say about it. Hell, this might be one of the guys you beat up back then:

…when mouthpieces for white supremacist ideology are physically assaulted on camera, it becomes a powerful validation of their victimhood complex: in their minds, plain evidence that white people are indeed under attack, and motivation to spread a call to violent response with renewed zeal. This “punch felt round the world” was a great boost to the “alt-right” cause. If you aid and comfort neo-Nazis, which is exactly what punching them in the face does, you are no better than they are. Real life isn’t a fucking Quentin Tarantino movie.

When I was a neo-Nazi skinhead over 2 decades ago, I got beat up as often as I beat anyone else up. It never made me any less violent. In fact, we used to pile into vans and drive from Milwaukee to Chicago for the thrill of brawling fellow devotees of romantic violence like the guy throwing the punch in this video. We lived for violent opposition. We thrived on it. Violence of any sort, no matter how it may be rationalized, is the bread of hatred. We put mustard on that shit and gleefully gobbled it up and clamored for more.

Back in the 1930s, there were gangs of communists who routinely brawled the Nazi brownshirts in the streets of Germany. Their contemporaries would have us believe that if there were more communists who brawled harder than they did back then, that the Holocaust wouldn’t have happened. As a former neo-Nazi, I can attest to how important it is to have violent opposition in order to maintain the hatred necessary to hurt people. The communist gangs helped Hitler’s National Socialist party come to power not only by galvanizing their own members, but more importantly by serving as a crucial ingredient in the overall atmosphere of fear and loathing that led the German general public to look to the Nazi party for order.

One time? No. There were a few incidents but after a while it wasn’t really a problem. Please don’t get what I am saying confused. I get your point, but if you’re a nazi, you crash someone’s party, start goose-stepping in the pit and go calling people mongrels, you deserve the consequences coming to you. I will never apologize for standing up for myself or my friends.

I just remembered that I still have a silver necklace somewhere with the canine I kicked out of the mouth of one of them. I had it made and I wore it for years. Shit, now I need to find that thing and share a photo of it. Where the fuck did I leave it?

EDIT: You edited your comment so now mine makes a lot less sense.

You can edit your comment too, lol. Sorry, I ‘revise’ myself a lot if I find I want to word something a different way, or think it’s better a different way.

What’s the supposed solution? Not make them victims how? The solution can’t be to just let them spew their hate and cause fear themselves

See, the issue here is that you’re conflating ‘don’t punch them’ with ‘let them do whatever they want’.

That’s absolutely not what I or those experts suggest. Hate should absolutely be confronted, empathically and aggressively. But not violently, because making martyrs of them only makes things worse long-term.

Of course, if you had actually read either the first linked article or at least the part of it that was quoted in that linked comment, you would have seen that already.
