Tl;dw all ranked choice options have a mathmatical spoiler effect. Approval voting doesn’t. First past the post is the worst.

STAR voting for the (most accurate) win.
Making a video like that without even mentioning proportional representation completely invalidates any credibility it might ever have had. I used to like this channel but these days I always question everything they say.
I think there was an unspoken assumption that proportional representation, while good, is orthogonal to the voting ballot tallying. Which is what I think the video mainly focused on. Proportional should absolutely still be used.
Proportional representation is irrelevant to most situations where a group of people has to choose from among several alternatives. I see no reason why it should be included alongside methods for determining a single winner, because it solves a different problem than they do.
The title literally says “Why democracy is mathematically impossible”, which is complete bullshit.
FPTP is the worst if your aim is to represent the will of the people. If you see democracy as something to be contained, and want a placebo button that the unwashed rabble can press every few years and feel like they have a stake, without them being able to threaten the interests of those who really rule, it would be seen as the safest option.
