Tbh, I don’t see how gender identity can be benign in a world where we still see so much discrimination and hatred against such ideas, but I am glad it was in this persons household. Though even then, I am not sure if it’s truly ever “benign”, it’s part of one’s self actualization and therefore meaningful and impactful for the person experiencing it
These stories make me incredibly jealous lol. I love my mom for doing her best to understand me and accepting me as I am but it took months for her to process me being bi .(I live in a Third world country) I feel like we are a solid few decades behind whatever point these people are in.
as benign as popcorn stuck in your teeth
That is not benign!
lol yeah, neither is gender expression even in an accepting society. I took benign in this case to mean like not family shattering, like it might be in conservative households
See, children are not born with Daily Wire subscriptions… Having weird hang-ups about other peoples’ gender identities is learned.
“children are not born with Daily Wire subscriptions” is one of the most eloquent ways I’ve ever seen someone express the idea that children don’t hate until they are taught to.
Told the baby before the 12 year old.
Classic middle child shit.
I think you misread that. The 12 year old is her baby.
Which is quite old for a baby. Most babies don’t get that old. A little known fact is that babies is captivity get much older than babies in the wild but still not as old as kids or teens or other human races.
Orc babies can get pretty old, but don’t do well in domesticated situations.
oop. i did~
“back to watching my game?!” Damn kids these days can’t even be bothered to play their own games! SMH
It’s cheaper ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Random thought, parent titles are gendered so what do enby parents go by?
It varies by person. Some use the word parent, some use mom or dad or both.
“Buddy”
Once they’re teens, all parents become “bruh…”
That’s what this cis dad is called. Or at least this is how all sentences start in this house.
And the other parent is “Pal”
“Parent” works in formal settings, but it would be weird to have your kid call you that. Maybe just your name?
Why go with “parent” when the combination of “Mom” and “dad” gives you “mod”, “mad”, “dam” and “dom”?
I don’t think a kid calling their parent their “dom” would go over well 💀💀💀
some kids call their father “daddy” smh
I call my dad daddy sometimes but that’s because I am not brain rotted (all of the time)
I’m binary and I could go by mad several times per day, depending on how frustrated I get with them lol
“Birthgiver”
I don’t think young children are ever prejudiced. It’s only when they see their parents getting aggro with “ethnics” that they start thinking about people that look different as enemies.
Well, young children discriminate against “weirdos”, like anyone autistic etc
Thanks for reminding me of my childhood trauma
Traumas bros 🙌
My kids noticed physical extremes before anything. Of course they would have to point it out to me as loud as possible.
We were in the grocery store, and my three year old says, as loud as he can, “DAD! Look at that huge guy! He must eat A LOT of FOOD!”
Damnit, kid…
I mean, he must have connected getting fat from eating lots of food from somewhere, right?
I think it was cartoons. A lot of times the chubbier characters will eat more food or junk food.
