Here we go with the “Free Speech Absolutist” --> This is what he’s planned. $50 Mil a month is a pittance compared to the $44 Billy he spent swinging Twitter/X hard toward the Radical Right.

I look forward to more shenanigans from the muskrat.

We’re doing a solar install and we refused Tesla batteries solely because of Musk. I won’t have his shit in my driveway, powering my home, or in my social usage. He’s fucking cancer.

If you’re looking for battery backup, I’ve been eyeing generac for a while. I can’t attest to their quality as I’ve yet to pull the trigger though.

They seem to work well with solar for offsetting usage at night.

I wanted a Tesla, like really wanted a Tesla. I couldn’t afford it. Now I can, and there is no way in hell I would buy one because of his dumbass. If he was kicked out, I’d buy one that same day.

Unless he were also forced to divest all his shares in the company though, he’d still profit if the company’s stock price continued to grow after his departure. Not likely given how much sway his involvement seems to have on its value in the minds of Tesla shareholders, but still a possibility.

I really wanted one but couldn’t afford it. Then I was able to and did. Then the Elon shit hit the fan, and now I’m stuck with a dick mobile.

I looked at trading it in for a Hyundai Ioniq 5 or something else, but I would be out thousands if I did

He is, but be fair to Tesla, he just makes money off them. He was forced out years ago and is just a majority stakeholder. It is hollow solace considering he does still get a big vote, but he does not run anything anymore. Same as PayPal.

Another more technical reason to refuse Tesla batteries is that they will refuse to instrument your power bank down to the individual battery component - they will only give you data on the entire array. So, if you are interested in maintain peak capacity by swapping out sketchy cells, they literally prevent you from doing that with anything other than a multimeter.

Sure would be nice if some high-ranking Twitter employees conspired to nuke the site and all the backups. They’d probably be hailed as heroes.

This is the real issue. Why the flippity duck do they use X? Well for one, they are pretty desperate for potential voters right now.

Honestly this isn’t too surprising or unreasonable. The White House can and should reach as many people as possible for a variety of communication reasons. Twitter is still wildly popular and has reach, so it’s a no brainer to tag along. They also post on many other social media platforms for the same reason. It’s not really a big deal imo.

I really disagree that this is the “real issue”. Love it or hate it Twitter is still one of the biggest social media sites out there. In this day in age to expect any prospective Presidential candidate not to have a major presence on a platform like that is just silly.

I don’t use Twitter and don’t care for it, but seriously come on.

Well, let’s see. First the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di’s clothes. I couldn’t believe it.

This dude has been full mask off since Covid. And he’s been an asshole before too, I think the façade really started to crack when he was told that his mini submarine was useless (of course one could argue that the fact that the first thing Musk’s mind went to when he wanted to disparage someone was “paedo” is rather telling).

I honestly do not understand why most politicians, white house, celebs, news outlets don’t drop Twitter like a hot potato. Threads can do pretty much everything it can now, and it’s a cleaner UI.

Why would you encourage people to go to Facebook over Mastodon?

If you’re gonna grow a platform, grow the right one.

Also you don’t have to leave Twitter to do so. You can post to both.

Even if I could afford one, the only option close to my price range is the Model 3, which has a terrible interior design. I want to have physical buttons for stuff like climate control and airflow.

Now that there are options with decent range like the Ioniq made by car manufacturers that actually care about usability and not just looking as pretty as possible, there’s no point in going for a Tesla in my brain.

Already has been. The “slow down” in EV sales is almost entirely from Tesla and I’d guess a lot of that is from how disliked he is by the main demographic of people buying EVs
