    Woke has got to be one of the most meaningless words out there. So many things are labeled as being “woke”. From left-wing to right-wing, from progressive to conservative, it’s genuinely insane.

    Can you please define what you mean by “woke”? (Funnily enough, most people that regularly use the word “woke” can’t even properly explain what it means)

    It was made by Marxists, along Marxist principles. FOSS in general is often home for those rejecting the decaying Capitalist hellscape. It takes a particularly ideological sort to choose Lemmy over the much more established Reddit, Lemmy doesn’t exist in a vaccum.

    There are definitely non-leftist, liberal instances like Lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works, but generally Social Issues like LGBT rights are universally supported.

      I - among many - chose Lemmy because Reddit banned 3ed party apps. Not for any ideological reason
