But I can’t blame the mods for their incompetence, I can’t expect them to speak multiple languages and understand complexe cultural issues, I can’t expect them to have a critical eye for religion scriptures, and i certainly will expecting a lot if I asked for trying to understand someone life experiences and background before going for the nuclear option…

    I actually just read your message now, this is exactly why you got banned. You take a disagreement where people are being civil, and go to an extreme. Insulting both them, their thoughts, in the most divisive way you can think of.

    In fact, you haven’t learned anything from this experience. Would you act this way in person? You meet somebody at the airport and you just go down this path? Why do you think this is a good way to communicate? Do you think this is good rhetoric? Are you being persuasive here? Somebody you disagreed with, will now agree with you?

    At best the conversation derails into name calling, at worst now you have people arguing so much, they drown out any other constructive conversation. This is a net negative for any community. This level of hate

      So in a real life scenario you would call the cops if someone said something were they turned out to be the assholes ?

      Also, keep in mind that I’m here actually having a civil discussion, trying to understand what went wrong, why do admins do that ? getting different perspectives!! Unlike the mod who hides behind the ban button and bans no questions asked, we will never get their side of the story. Like I explained how does my comment fit in Rule 2???!!!

        I did not call on the administer to ban you, I actually asked them to look at your sock puppet account and evaluate it. If one of my users created a sock puppet and was very disruptive on a different community I would want to know about it. At the very minimum I would want to have a conversation with them

        Yes I absolutely would call the police if someone was being disruptive. That’s literally what you’re supposed to do. See something say something.

        I’ve told you multiple times in this conversation exactly why you got banned, then you demonstrated it for yourself two messages ago in this thread. You’ve justified your account getting banned multiple times over, and you still have not seen the problem with your behavior.

            I gave you one possible reason why a moderator would ban a fresh account that is only posting combative things. They are completely justified for banning somebody being combative in their community.

            Would you want somebody acting like you talking to your children? Or your niece is and nephews? Is your language appropriate? Is your rhetoric coherent and constructive? Obviously not, so why should a moderator let you poison the well of their community? They are completely justified for removing a combative influence that you have demonstrated

              You’re holding me to some unrealistic standards for the internet discussions as a whole, very few people talk like you’re describing here on Lemmy, actually I never saw a single person here talking like that… It’s usually lots of swearing here, I just made a comment and I was being honest, could I have phrased my comment better ?                 The reason I’m not talking about the subject matter that got you banned, is I don’t care. I don’t care why the moderators banned you, I just looked at their behavior, and your behavior and I found it correct. And then I’ve been spending the rest of this discussion explaining that to you.

                There are many places here where you can discuss religion, your thoughts about it, your thoughts about the lore of religion, and you can do that in a constructive and fun way. But you can’t interject that wherever you please trying to get reactions out of people… That’s going to cause moderators to get kind of twitchy.

                Moderators are like gardeners, they want to see the garden grow, they don’t want to see weeds show up in the garden, and they don’t want to see something happening that pushes away all the beautiful birds and insects they’re trying to attract to the garden.
