This poster started posting on Lemmy 2 days ago and has done nothing but post about voting in political instances. I mean, look at their name.
I agree that people should vote, it’s such a simple thing to do and takes 20 minutes out of 4 other years you should be spending a fraction of your time doing political action to take down our system.
But this astroturfing shit sucks and I hope you leave.
I can’t say I agree I think it’s necessary. I see way too much astroturfing the other way. Way too many suspicious memes. Things I’ve seen before. Things I don’t trust for a reason. So I’m perfectly okay with the concert reminders to counteract the idiotic memes with evil backers.
I don’t see any problem with creating an account and then posting about political topics if that’s what you’re interested in. Perhaps you could come up with something more specific that you think they’re doing that’s problematic.
This particular post might be a little boring but I don’t see it as manipulative. And if I were going to be critical of them, I would probably make remarks about their artistic prowess, or lack thereof, except that they are already far more skilled than I am, so I’m just going to shut up about it and hope they don’t see this comment and hold it against me later.
